awww...Ratna ji is acting like a newbie...sadly and unluckily the BW industry thrives by making women objects of lust...why blame sonakshi...and not the audience...Sonakshi did a Lootere too...how many appreciated that...while the shitfest Dabangg is considered a classic and is a blockbuster...a lovely movie like Lootere was flop...badi badi baatein ..vada paav khaate..😳

as far as i remember Ratna mentioned Sonakshi in context that "atleast one who has strong financial support ,privileges should not do such movies , which i feel is perfectly fine .

People who have privileges ,who has power should atleast think of associating themselves in something content .

On topic, I think Sonakshi's character was pretty much an object of lust and desire for Chulbul Pandey and the song Taakte Rehte is an example of that, with her doing all that pottery in slow motion while Chulbul keeps staring. I loved Ratna's arguments on the show. She is unlike anyone else in the industry, says what she has to without sugar coating and makes sense at the same time. Reminds me of a strict teacher whose value you only realize later. She was brutal af about Gal Gadot too. 😆

I don't understand it...how will Sonakshi saying no to a movie will change anything?? There will be a hundred women who will lap this role up for just being opposite Salman Khan...she should have targeted the people who make such movies in the first place...and we as the audience who create a market for these movies...why should Sonakshi be the martyr here...just imagine if not Dabangg but Lootera was her first movie...no one would have even known Sonakshi then...why do u want a woman to sacrifice her career...instead of a system to be changed😕

Yup she found objection to the lyric which loosely translates to "Baby I'm a spring chicken, wash me down with some alcohol" picturized on Kareena Kapoor biting her lip in a choli that was probably Katrina's size. 🤪

I dont get why she targeted sonakshi for doing the role & dabaang movie out of all movies..😕who is she to point fingers towards sona ?..she is an adult and can take her own decisions which will make her career..why not talk abt her own husband's movie like ishqiya/dedh ishgiya..whatever it is..

Her own husband did Dirty Picture based on that Silk Smitha who apparently had no Choice ???? Let me tell you there's always a choice. An these people are Choosing 😆 😆

It's obvious Ratna hasn't seen Dabangg. She was clearly talking about the song Fevicol from Dabangg 2.

It's songs like this that cause a huge problem in the psyche of young Indian boys' minds.

The slapping of butts (Varun in Judwaa 2), forcibly kissing (Varun Dhawan in Judwaa 2, Akshay in Kambahkht Ishq, Saif in Hum Tum) are just some examples of this problem. These films normalise stalking and sexual harassment.

I remember pretty much every other film in the 70s 80s and early 90s had a rape scene. These scenes were shot in such tantalising fashions that they aroused the viewer. It gave generations of young men the wrong view on sex and intimacy. Do I need to bring up the issue of rape culture in India?

Ratna's concern lies here. She's not "targeting" Sonakshi for fun.

And regarding Naseeruddin Shah, he played a part in a film that told the very tragic story of Silk Smitha and many before her. There is a difference. Even in Ishqiya, yes there were sexual tones, but I don't remember anything cheap, problematic or without consent.
