^^ I watched all and enjoyed those movies. An other than enjoyment I haven't ever taken anything from those films. Movies don't do anything like that. Certain People are just freaks.

Not just Dabangg there are many more. Aishwarya Rai plays similar roles object of lust in most movies like the recent ADHM.

I liked that part where Salman shows up at her dads funeral and says "what happened has happened it's time for us to get married 😆 😆

Why are members questioning about her choice of movie or actress ? She was clearly giving just an example...esp cause Dabang is a masala movie that objectifies woman and Sonakshi has a strong backup from her Father who is a BW veteran plus a politician. She clearly meant that woman like Sona, and others who have such backing should stand up and say that we wont do roles that objectify women.

If we want a change, we will need to start somewhere and everyone has their opinion about where to start, so does she... It doesnt mean her opinion should match yours...

I saw munni and kareena character dancing happily... Why we are judging them if they have chosen profession out of choice...
It's not like some movie where gals are forced into all this.

She should have also mentioned about dirty picture , begum jaan, ishqiya, dedh ishiqya jackpot.

She should have also mentioned aBout happy new year...

the problem is not with these girls, but the facade these characters show to the society that its okay to objectify women or girls...and the result is that young boys think its okay...

Every other day we read about rape cases happening around the country... Movie are the ones to make most impression on the young growing-up generation. So its high time, we as a society think what we want them to learn from the movies...

Standing up for the kind of role ones do, is Ratna Pathak's opinion of bringing a change, yours can be different...point is, that something needs to be done...

LOL at the one-sided statements by Ratna ji. Although I adore her interviews and quotes, this time I find her too judgemental TBH. Many women in real life do love to be the centre of attraction, be it at workplace or at social gathering. They do all kind of weird/not-regular stuffs (dressing/makeup/gestures) to attract male attention. Why judge them for trying to be objectified ? Their wish, their choice. It's not always about trying to do the right thing, it's more about woman getting to do what she thinks is right for her. That's the base of feminism.

There will be objectionable scenes in movies/dramas where men violate the consent of a woman playfully, THAT should be taken care of. Dabang offers nothing as sort of that. As long as both parties are in agreement, who are we to judge. 😛
