i do feel actors have evolved as well unlike what was said initiallyi mean look around..akshay doing a padman..a man selling pads and taking about periods..fawad in kapoor and sons..ayushman playing a guy with erectile dysfunctioni mean would we see all that in the 90s?that is evolvingi am all for actresses evolving..they surely havebut lets not degrade another sex to up yourself..both have evolved..actresses may be more but not like actors haven'tyes some actors still do the same thing but then we also have the likes of jacki..nargis..etc etc doing the same what used to happen years agoi appreciate all the actors and actresss evolving..they surely have..i won't really make it a man vs woman thing and i didn't like when it became soalso bhumi says men don't go through those emotions..that is again judgemental..every person regardless of gender can go through wide range of emotions depending on his own circumstances etcI hope my statement won't be taken in any wrong way..i am in no way denying the gigantic evolving of female actors..and kudos to them for it

I'll have to disagree. Fawad and Ayushman are exceptions to the rule.KJo had asked 6-8 others for Fawad's role and they all rejected it.Hardly any actor would have done Ayushman's role in Shubh Mangal. I think Bhumi mentioned it also..As for Akshay, Padman is glorifying him. The movie is about him. He's certainly the "hero", which is why he's doing the movie. Women's issue, man is the only one on the initial posters. Says quite a bit.Anything not "manly" is not something majority of today's leading men will even consider.
I wonder what it would've been like if Katrina were sitting with these women here. Especially when they said, the first rule of acting is that you don't care how ugly or pretty you're going to look.
I don't mind flowerpot roles for men or women. I am okay with people just showing their bodies off in movies if that's what they want. But you can't pretend to be a serious actor then. You cannot say that you are genuinely interested in acting or feel excited by a good role. Are you kidding me? Even in Namastey London, her only good role so far, you can't call that acting good by any standards. It's just better than what she has done otherwise but it's not good acting.Anyway, OT, I loved Ratna. She was extremely articulate and impressive with her knowledge and maturity. I loved the way she replied to others. She was polite but still put forth her point of view beautifully. Loved it.Vidya and Swara were fine. Swara, a bit too excited, she needs to find a better way to take the lead in the conversation, cuz right now she's a bit abrupt. Vidya had some good points and I liked the way she talked. She also sounded genuine to me, so did Swara, so did everyone other than Bhumi actually.Zaira was a bit of a misfit really, in this roundtable. She might have acted very well in the movie, but her experience so far is not much to talk about in the film world. Personal experience, out of the movies, is irrelevant here IMO. Everybody would have stories like that. This roundtable should be related to their professional lives more than their personal. But her experience being too little, she had very limited things to talk about. But, I liked her and thought she was mature for her age and also pretty frank, if a bit cocky at times.Bhumi had very few good points and really went on and on about her privileged upbringing. The way she talked, it seemed pretentious to me, a little arrogant maybe. Having loved her onscreen, it's disappointing to find out her real life personality to be so off-putting.Still the roundtable was better than some I have seen in the past. Wish it was more technical though. Next time.
