Ok so you watched Dilwale and you just noticed Varun's OTT acting, but somehow missed SRK and Kajol's OTT acting 😆.

Anyways on topic, Varun tends to go OTT especially when it is comedy. But he is decent enough when it more than just comedy, for example in the Dulhania series, his acting is quite good. Ofcourse it is not great, but it is good. He is able to shed the OTT, want to do Sallu/Govinda but became Sohail khan version of comedy,.
Plus I know it has become a cliche but Varun in Badlapur was very good. He had a more than decent outing and did something genuinely admirable. Although I will not recommend you that movie as from what I have noticed from your posts that movie is not your cup of tea. It is very dark and something which will disgust a normal colourful bollywood movie lover.

Plus see some movies are commercial and need some type of signature acting. Varun does this signature acting in those comedies.
But it isn't he is unable to shed that signature acting brand, and give shot to a better performance as evidence from Dulhania series and Badlapur.
Plus why gets casted, he has never given a flop.
In this age when even superstars like Sallu,SRK are not able to save thier movies, he is giving hits.
So obviously na why will people not cast him.

I hated Badlapur :( the way he kills off Radhika Apte's character just for the heck of if was too brutal.

You hated Badlapur because the violence and screwed-up mindset of the characters involved was too much for you.
Not because the movie was bad or poorly made.

U_R_MY_BITCH, No, SRK & Kajol were excellent in the movie, their acting does not annoy me 1 bit 😆

I find him extremely loud onscreen and his OTT acting is pure torture 🤢

I dont think Varun will convince me in other genres, he must be naturally like this...cant stand the guy already!!

There is the problem 😆.
You are not giving him a fair chance, because you have already made up your mind about him.
But it is okay, why waste your time analysising Varun, when you can spent that time in dreaming about Anushka Sharma😆.
