huh..I can't blame you...Am his fan but I also think he was OTT in dilwale...but that was his worst performance...he was better in every other role

since you have seen his worst..it will get better from here...he was really good in badlapur,main tera hero,badrinath ki dulhania,humpty and even in SOTY

True. He's extremely annoying on screen and off screen both. He talks and behaves like a kid in his every movie. Badlapur is an exception. He was really good in that movie. I dont how he managed to give such polar opposite performances.

Otherwise he just plays himself. And Dilwale was another Devdas in terms of OTT acting. 😆 SRK broke his own record.

Can't really blame Varun there but yeah he was absolutely cringe-worthy. First I though maybe that's how his character is but then I caught up with his other movie and I realized I was mighty wrong.

Okay, so you think Varun just went OTT without any direction? 😆 THE Rohit Shetty having an OTT character in his film... so farfetched. 😆 Come now - you've heard some of his dialogues, you'd know he has to deliver them that way.

As for no OTT acting from the other cast... uhm - Johnny, Boman, SRK's 2 sidekicks, Varun's best friend - they were all OTT na??

I think you mean just SRK and Kajol - IMO, it was deliberate to show the different generations of love... but I believe that was the movie's biggest downfall. When people think Rohit Shetty - they think loud, fun etc like Golmaal... That's probably why this movie failed - because Kajol and SRK were shown to be intense while 90% of the rest of the cast were in the breezy, OTT space. I actually think Varun's comedy actually helped keep the pace of the film and stay true to Rohit Shetty brand.

But as you said - you just want to vent on Varun so I'm gonna let you do it 😆

@ U_R_MY_BITCH, Yeah I would rather dream of Anushka Btw he is doing a movie with her grrr, so there comes more torture...that is gona kill me!! I dont think he can do romance too, comedy or even action...his action was even crap, just tries too hard!! See I saw Judwaa 2 trailer recently, seems like he carries his habits everywhere!!

@BeingChevi, Yes I was talking about SRK, Kajol, & Kriti in particular, the others were not as bad as Varun 😆 I feel if another actor played the role, he would have played it normally & calmly...every actor has their own attributes, their own style!! Varun just tries too hard!! His voice, & screen presence is annoying too. Sorry if you feel I am being too harsh on him, & if you are his fan...just my opinion!! 😳 He is spoiling the movie for me, that is why venting!! Btw I will be catching up with Dishom too. I will see how he gets on there. I very much doubt he will change my mind!!

I liked her character to and her husband's. felt bad when he killed them too BT darn that's my fav movie. I just loved it his character was worse then the actual killers. the raping the prostitute was even worse though.

BT very cool movie and one that can be watched over and over again

as a varun fan I dnt like to be reminded of his useless acting in that film. he was the worst thing about dudwale, cringeworthy. over the top. truly awful.

wat was worse was that he had done similar roles like that before and this should have been easy for him and he should have nailed that role BT he was a big let down.

i expected kriti to have come across as nervous considering she was very new and was Working with kajol and srk BT she was good BT her role had nothing to offer.

this was very badly acted by varun I think he tried to hard in that movie and allowed who he was working with intimate him. In mth he was much better even in dishoom his comic timing was perfect and he was totally awesome in them. i will just chalk this down as him not being in this movie lol although I love kajol and srk in the movie.

Yeah, he's really OTT and hyper. Have not liked his acting in any movie and don't plan on watching any of his new ones. One look at the Judwaa 2 trailer and I knew it would another one of his typical garbage movies. Even Salman Khan was better in Judwaa and I don't think he's a good actor at all. In the Tan Tana Tan song, he's also overdoing it by jumping around so much. No subtlety or grace.

Out of the younger actors, Ranbir is by far the most versatile and talented (and I did not like him at first either) and Ranveer is all right too.

Well yes I am a fan but I'm not invalidating your opinion in any way - you're entitled to feel however towards his acting, voice etc. 😊 In fact, Dilwale is my least favorite film of Varun and I wish I could erase it 😆

I just want to make points about the character and how you can't hold him responsible for going OTT in Dilwale - as in, whether you find it annoying or not, IMO he HAD to or was required to go OTT for the film. That was his character. I mean, can you imagine doing the Ramlal-Pogo scene "calmly"? The pitch of his scenes were OTT in description - you can see by the way SRK's sidies react around SRK (in a more serious manner) vs how they act around Varun (comedic/loud in the scene where they're describing the back story).
