Who is sending their children to mosque to be taught by these maulvis? Educated parents cannot insulate themselves. Easy to criticise Abhijeet, Modi, Trump blah blah. But who watches Peace TV at home? (Speaking about their religion is fine. But the debates always tend to look down at other faiths).

Several factors can influence the individual. But who sowed the seed of intolerance/hatred in innocent child's mind? Bush? Trump? Zakir Naik? Modi? ... Really?

yes u are right. parents have the greatest responsibility in shaping the mindset of an individual...but sometimes despite good parenting, young people or impressionable minds get influenced by religious preachers and scholars who encourage violence in the name of Islam... for ex. a few months back a father of a terrorist killed in an encounter in Lucknow refused to take his body saying that a traitor cannot be my son... both father and son were muslims and I'm sure the father would have tried his best to raise his son as a good human being yet he was led astray by the teachings of muslim scholars and preachers like zakir Naik. Same happens in madarsas where young minds can easily be guided into violence in the name of saving Islam.

also there is the fact that what parents learn from these preachers the same thing they teach their children...

yes I should have guessed that... it's the most popular rebuttal. 😳

only I thought that since both Abhijeet and the 'liberals' were quite liberally using foul language for each other, it would be fair to ban them all 😆

Parents cannot simply watch what their children are doing. (If everything happens outside their knowledge, they cannot help it). Father in Lucknow might be innocent. But father of the terrorist in Manchester is not. Actions and words of terrorist's brother and sister are the proof.

Parents should be able to argue/debate with their children/Maulvi, if they feel their thought process is wrong. At least educated parents can do. But they go quiet at such times and only argue with others.

All I wanted to say is, a child should not be raised in a victimhood environment. If not, even for a small obstacle, they start feeling they are targeted. Everyone, every community have their own struggles.

I thought it was baba as usual based on the title of the thread. 😆
On a serious note, IDK wha controversy Sonu Nigam is referring to now. What I know is social media and Twitter in general has called out the idiocy of celebs especially who used to be on a pedestal.

The thing is, we hide behind pseudo names, but if we post an opinion on something trivial like even an actor or acting, we will be challenged. That is the way it is because we are not in a sealed vacuum chamber. If we expect no one to challenge an opinion of ours and everyone to agree with us, we are a fools, whether it is a celeb like Sonam or a nobody like us. The difference between a celeb with an opinion and a nobody like us is, a celeb has consequences while we do not. So like in RL don't say anything stupid if you do not want to be challenged and this rule applies both to nobodies and celebs.

@bold - ideally they should ... but i guess most would just shape their beliefs around the preachings of mulla maulvis thinking that they would obviously be knowing better...and then those parents would impart the same misguided teachings to their children from a very young age... and the cycle continues...

Who decides what is "Bad" ? You are looking at censorship and no American company will do that. It comes under freedom of speech which is enshrined in the constitution and that includes all speech, not just nice speech. Cause some will find swearing offensive, many would not. So put your own filter at country level, company level, home level or censor yourself. Don't expect twitter to do so. It's a product for all people. Use it at the level you are comfortable.

left politics and propaganda has been rejected by majority and yet left leaning individuals are not ready to look at their role and how they are more into dividing country . Extremism is wrong in both left and right but even moderate left in India is dangerous
