It's not about unpopular opinion... Or about being bashed

You say people might want to get fair because they feel it might enhance their features yet you attach a photo from someone whose color is a product of their race, their genetics... which completely invalidates your point. And supports what everyone else is saying that people look down on those with dark skin.

You say that you would not discriminate against anyone because of their color but your very words point to it. I'm sure you didn't mean it but you don't even realize how racist your last post was.

Either I'm reading your words incorrectly or you are not able to convey your point well. But whatever you have posted is so wrong.

Sure it's one's choice whether one likes fair or dark skin, fat or thin and so on..but it is not acceptable for an endorsement to push the idea that one's fair skin or body type gets them ahead in context of personal or professional achievements than others..THAT is the problem with the fairness creams' advertisements.. and that is the reason that people take offense.. it's not so difficult to understand..

How many dark airhostesses or receptionists or TV anchors or actresses do we have? It is a reality that fair skin is favoured!

Naomi Campbell, Rihanna, Beyonce, Kardashian are all Black, yet they are counted as beautiful. Only in India do people openly discriminate against skin color. Most recently a bjp leader equated tolerating South Indian as a part of not being racist right after a Nigerian was beaten up by the mob.

Obviously not everyone is born with all these things. So people keep wishing to get better. We use heels to artifically grow taller. Wear black to give the illusion that we are slimmer. We use makeup, contouring, all kinds of makeup tricks to make our skin 'glow'. No matter in which way you put it, your skin can't be glowing in black. It's about time people accept that it's people's choice to be of any colour they wish, just like no one should dictate whether one should wear heels or makeup. Period.

LOL then it will still be 'my choice' to go and punch you in the nose. Does that still count in your rational as to being right?
No sweetie.

Just because it's your choice doesn't make it right. We live in a society where certain social decorum needs to be followed. Discriminating other humans on how they look, falls under disobeying that decorum.

Don't want to follow that? Well don't live in the civilized society then. Go back to whichever 18th century cave you came from.

There is a lot of difference between getting groomed, using makeup and desiring fair skin.
Skin color has been the underlying issue for many cultures' history. Wearing heels and applying lipstick is fine because it is grooming. looking down on dark skinned people and cultivating the idea fair is beautiful is not.

Did he really say South Indians are black, but we still live with them 🤢

Is it true violent crime against people from Africa is increasing in India? 😡

It's a great shame that not much is being done about it 😲

If you punch me in the nose and you call it your choice then I would kick your ass and break your jaw too.

And "discriminating" other humans isn't just limited to fairness creams. There are several other things like makeup, hair dyes etc that people use to change the way THEY look. It is completely their choice. If you can't understand this, go back to 5th century rock that you were living under.

Yes. Which is why it's particularly hilarious/pathetic to see South Indians defending/justifying this mess. The wording was was we tolerate South Indians who are dark so how can we be racist...despite the fact that the majority of India is brown to dark brown. India is viciously racist/colorist and the hate-crimes have been rapidly increasing. Yahan kuch change nahi hota hain lol. I only feel bad for little girls and boys growing up with these awful cultural conditionings. India's colorism is spilling onto violent racist against Africans and regular colorism against South Indians too, and it's getting worse every day.
