Alia Bhatt has once again had to raise her voice against unwanted intrusions into her private life. The actress took to social media to share her disappointment after a video showing the interiors of her new home surfaced online without her consent.
In a heartfelt note, Alia explained how unsettling it felt to discover that someone had managed to film parts of her under-construction bungalow and circulate it across media platforms. She reminded everyone that while Mumbai may be a city where personal space often overlaps, it does not give anyone the right to record or share footage of someone’s private residence. Calling the act both a violation and a security risk, she urged people not to forward or spread such content and requested media outlets to take the videos down.
This isn’t the first time Alia has had to address boundaries with the media. Earlier, she had spoken up when paparazzi attempted to photograph her daughter Raha without permission. Back then too, she stressed on the importance of respecting privacy, especially when it came to family and personal spaces.

Named after Ranbir Kapoor’s late grandmother, the house has been years in the making. It was partially lit up during Alia and Ranbir’s intimate wedding in April 2022, even while construction was ongoing. Today, the residence finally stands complete, blending contemporary architecture with a touch of legacy that connects the couple to their family’s roots.
While the incident has clearly left her disheartened, Alia continues to keep her focus on work. She will soon be seen in YRF’s spy universe with her action-packed film Alpha. Following that, she’s set to reunite with Sanjay Leela Bhansali for the much-awaited Love and War, co-starring Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal. Both projects have already created a strong buzz, promising audiences yet another glimpse of her versatility.
Alia’s note is a reminder that even stars, who spend much of their lives in the spotlight, deserve their safe corners away from the public gaze. Privacy, as she put it, should never be treated as “content.”
