Yes it was called upon by Bhalla on order of Shivgami as she dint want Praja to come to know that someone from family is involved in Bahu's death so Kalakeya gang was called so people will think that it's them who killed Bahu.

Ohh the Bhalla holding his father and them releasing to "Aag lagao at right time " was Fantastic and Brilliant touch to Bhalla's character .

Am so glad I watched this movie. It has been such a terrific experience.
Of course, we could nitpick but loved the fact that the Team stayed true to the original idea probably- that is to entertain people.

And entertain they did!

Prabhas as Amarendra was fantastic, the character is a perfect blend of everything good and chivalrous about mankind. And Anushka as Devsena is the perfect foil!

I have to watch the movie again for sure, there is so much to glean from it.

Thanks for that! It seems to make perfect sense now.. There is nothing worse than a woman scorned :'(

Must say the entire conspiracy plot was superbly executed!

@Freelancer : Good to see you have enjoyed the movie. We all are here after two years. 😆

The sword exchanging dynamic was such an important part of the film. It was there when Kattappa and Baahu were in a playful mood and it was also there in one of the most crucial scenes of the movie where Kattappa kills Baahubali. Even then it is the latter who throws the sword for him to catch. I realized it was a part of the first installment as well, when Kattappa calls for the horse and Shiva grabs the sword from the scabbard in Kattappa's hands. Love how he has kept some details intact in both the installments.

@Freelancer- Am glad you liked it more the second time. I realised am creepily obsessed with this film 😆 I don't remember the last time I wrote so many essays on a film and obsessively read all the member reviews. And am still not sick of it cos am planning to watch it again 😆 There are just so many subtle moments of brilliance in the film which you don't instantly notice. I think Bhalla was an extremely fascinating character and it's sad that they din have enough time to dwell on his shades. He was one of the few who understood every character perfectly well and knew what to say when to get his work done. The whole sibling rivalry, that constant feeling of being shortchanged by his own mother, the fact that his brother always got what he felt was rightfully his, his obsession with Devasena etc. were fascinating to watch. He knew when to guilt trip Shivagami and when to use his dad to cause the maximum damage. I find it intriguing that there was not one reference to his wife and despite everything that happened, the one fact that affected him the most was that Devasena was missing and she was no longer his prisoner. I sometimes wish an entire film was dedicated just to explore the dynamics and shades of all these characters. I would be happy to get rid of Avantika-Shivudu and SSR could have just mentioned in one line that Shivudu came all the way to rescue Devasena for the sake of his girlfriend 😆
P.S. Credit to SSR for creating such a strong antagonist and supporting characters instead of just using them to glorify the leads. I remember SSR once mentioned that, the stronger the antagonist, the greater is the impact when the hero finally wins. If only other film makers understood this simple concept while making commercial films. Most films with strong vamps/villains end up being million times more entertaining than the mundane masala flicks where the villain is nothing short of a joke and used only to glorify the hero.

@Rogerrocks..ditto! Bhalla deva was such an intriguing character with many layers tht were left to be explored. I was pissed at how they literally sidelined him. Oh yea n I wish his wife was shown, it would be interesting to see him as a husband.

@TheekThaak - 😆😉 thats a very interesting observation you brought up..yes there is a nice flow maintained in many ways..
how much I love the scene where Mahendra lays his blood filled hand on the Shivling - as much as I dont like Shivadu and was rather upset after the death sequence..the last 10 minutes of climax was neat..

+++++++++++++
@Rogerrocks - oh yes, I second that..I think its good they kept a lot of things open for interpretation..gives us fodder to discuss😛

yeah the villain has to have a twisted but exceptionally powerful mind too..Baahu vs Bhallal is like the battle between creators vs hackers/ police vs rogue sort off..where the criminal mind always has to be one step ahead..

Ohh Rana was super effective..those eyes! they reeked everything required..he had like 10 dialogues in the whole movie..but his body language did the talking..his obsession with Devsena mahn! next level pyscho!😲 I also loved how Devsena communicated her disgust through eyes everytime..<3 extremely powerful! Wife was intentionally never mentioned..her presence would never have mattered or added anything to the storyline..but her absence actually aided and added to Bhallal's characterization more...

as much as I love Prabhas-Anushka's divine pairing and cant get enough of them, I would love to see an intense lovestory with Rana-Anushka too <3 Anushka looks fabulous with these two #ohmyhotness men, like no other!

Avantika was a joke! 🥱😆 glad we were spared in round two from more of her👏⭐️ its really too bad that the epic that offered Shivgami and Devsena, as two of the most headstrong and fiery women written in the longest time..also showcased Avantika -_- such an anti thesis! -_- I also think it would have been a lot better if another actress was chosen for it..Tamannah is hardworking but useless!

even that Kumar guy, who is used as a pawn in the story was very well sketched out..

you guys read that book Shivgami? I have heard its pretty good...might give it a shot later in the week..

@rogerrocks: That's been the concept since ages. All great movies have amazing antagonists. If the antagonist is weak, the movie falls flat. Sadly, off late film-makers have become pretty lazy to write kickass viliians who can outdo the hero. Reason why we don't have iconic villian characters in commercial movies these days. All are forgettable.

Makes me miss people like Amrish Puri, Raghuvaran etc..we were pros at being dangerous. Though I would not really put Rana's charecter in that bracket for it needed a little more in that aspect. His psyche could have been explored and it would have been fascinating. Though the moments of him controlling his dad were very interesting. According to me Bhalla seemed much more dangerous in the first part with all those dialogues he says to Devasena and Kattappa. Twisted Poetic and dangerous lines . They were goosebumps inducing. He doesn't speak much in this part. Wish he did though..Rana has the best dialogue delivery in Telugu..though I didn't watch it in Telugu but still..😆

@Zaniax : Same. Atleast they could have given him more lines to deliver .
