The success of Bahubali 2 is incredible and totally deserving. Finally a mainstream movie which is obliterating all box office records in history of indian cinema left, right and center and without having any superstars like khans or rajni's etc. So good to see this one deconstructing the awful star system which indian cinema have been caught with.
The vfx, cgi and effects were comparatively better in 1st part. Although with less than 1/4th of budget compared to hollywood you cannot compare and complain. You have to appreciate the effort, grand scale and scope of the movie. The ending could have been better but still movie is better than 95% of indian movies.

The strength of the second part lies in the emotional connectivity. Have heard many people have been literally crying in theaters during some of the scenes. Specially the main one which you can guess. The build up to the circumstances was good. But it was so well acted by the main 3 characters related to the sequence that it actually makes it the heart and core of the movie. Well done Rajamouli and well deserved success.

As movie I will rate it 3.5/5. But for the impact and effort I will add extra .5 for 4/5

So for all her strength and courage, she was pretty hotheaded and rash.

Draupadi also had the same problem. There was not a single humble bone in her body.

When dealing with people who are unjust and arrogant, how else is a woman to react? No woman is sweet and calm when accused for no wrong of hers, especially not kshatriya women.

And in which scene was Draupadi ever arrogant? The things that she is accused of, like calling Karna a sutaputra or laughing at Duryodhana, are not even in the original epic by Vyasa. Those are all scenes added by TV serials and movies over the years to justify the villains, particularly men like Karna and Duryodhana, because society cannot take it that a fiery woman like Draupadi was actually able to get her revenge. They need to portray her as arrogant to show the men as the victims of her 'unnecessary rage'. In reality, Draupadi was fiery but she was also compassionate, such as when she forgave Ashvatthama for killing her five sons, and she was also a just queen. Draupadi was a woman with all qualities. She was both fiery and calm. She was both Gauri and Maha Kali. She had all shades within her, which is what made her such a perfect and interesting character.

Devasena, who is so obviously based off of Draupadi, is hands down the BEST female character ever written in Indian television, in fact even better than any female lead in Hollywood. She is a true composite woman, and I wish her story lasted longer. I really wouldn't mind another movie that explores her own story. 😳

Bahubali 2 (Hindi) Is Out Of This World On Monday
Monday 01 May 2017 23.30 IST
Box Office India Trade Network

Bahubali 2 - The Conclusion (Hindi) has continued its record smashing run with Monday business which has surpassed all it has done over the weekend in terms of records. The collections are set to be around 36-37 crore nett and if we take the 37 crore nett figure then outside Bahubali 2 (Hindi) then only one film has grossed more than this on its first day. That film was Prem Ratan Dhan Payo in 2015 which grossed a little over 39 crore nett and here it is the first Monday. The film is on an unbelievable run. It was a partial holiday which would have helped a little but not to the extent that itsmashes the records of all films bar one.

;

The total business of the film is now around 164 crore nett and the business tomorrow will give a better idea of the first week business as Monday was a partial holiday so the Tuesday drop will be more than normal (or should be more than normal as with this film you nver know considering what has happened over the past four days).

Bahubali 2 - The Conclusion (Hindi) is at record levels in every Hindi circuit where it was full release and the way it is going it has a very good chance of becoming the highest Hindi language grosser and maybe among the Top Hindi films (adjusted) of all time despite it being a dubbed film.

watched the movie again last Sunday and now I am obsessed! when I saw it first time, I was disappointed, because the action sequences did not match up to my expectations..but then a second viewing and the reviews here, helped me understand that this movie had so many dynamics, powerful moments and changing landscape of some extremely potent relationships..it wasnt so much about graphics/ VFX/ the grandeur/ action choreography - which ofcourse aided to its maxim, as much as the plot itself was very very well written and powerfully presented..
the story is tastefully explained and so many significant nuances!

++++++++++++++++
The opening sequence with pan graphic shots of important parts of Part 1 was such a brilliant brilliant way of recapping! deserves a special applause just for that..plus the song Shivam is UH-MAZING! cant stop listening to it! The beats just add such a larger than life aura to the whole setting <3

Watching Shivgami-Amarendra bonding in the start is so heartwarming and heartbreaking on so many levels! absolutely oxymoronic! the latter half of Bahubali the beginning coupled with opening sequence of this movie..and damn the feels! such a pure, beautiful and potent bond than Shivgami-Amarendra's! It hurts so so bad, how things go down hill..:'(

have to give credit for the light moments between Katappa and Bahubali..it took me second viewing to realize how cute were they together! 😭😭😭 Katappa playing wingman was aww!😆

Amarendra-Devsena lovestory was so beautiful..while they may have been inspired from Mahabharat/ Ramayan..and with no offense to the epics..theirs will definitely go down as one of my favourite lovestories to grace the celluloid..clearly for all the reasons @rogerrocks and @Theekthaak presented👏👏. The respect, dignity and distinguished sense of right from wrong is what made it so special and stand out..Prabhas and Anushka were just class apart! Even that super wierd boat song works because it has them! Amar-Devsena were absolutely ethereal!

who else loved the scene where Bhallal places his hand on Bijjalla, waiting to release it at the absolute right time..when the courtroom showdown happened? it was so spot on and effective..the way things tumbled down lack a pack of cards..and one after the other, unfortunate events happened!

I enjoyed the bits where Amar and Devsena mingle with Mahishmati crowd and become their forest king/ queen kinds..<3 Rajamouli feeded the exact proportion required for their lovestory..he did not go overboard or underplay it..the exact right!

The Kalakeya clan attacked Amarendra B, because Bhallal joined hands with them? their attack seemed out of place unless they were called upon by Bhallal?

what made the biggest difference was that the movie rose above the big question - Why Katappa killed Bahubali! the amount of expectations and anticipation around it could have only lead to disappointment, but it is the success of vision, plot, screenplay and brilliant brilliant performance and direction that made all the difference..Not a single person curses Katappa - but understands what happened and why did the gruesome but unfortunate deed happen..I havent seen a single negative reaction to the final reveal..that makes one realize that Rajamouli made something so special that it worked in entirety!

Shivgami's redemption! Oh mahn, her guilt, those moments where she finally realizes her sin..that got the tears to my eyes like nothing else..

and poetic justice was rendered the way Devsena did the agni prasthaan towards the end walking over the beheaded golden head of Bhallal! Absolutely fantastic! Devsena's characterization deserves pages worth of praises and analysis!

another small but effective moment was Katappa finally throwing across the sword to Mahendra to kill Bhallal! it came a full circle!

that stupid coconut tree basket thing was wierd on some other level..but in the climax sequence..I loved the bit where Mahendra dabs shivbhutti on his wounds..and beats Bhallal with the chains of Devsena - cinematic genius moment!

and finally the head of Bhallal tumbling down and submerged in the Jivanadi! masterstroke!

A movie like this is a once in a lifetime experience!

JUST WOW!

Baahubali 2 craze hits Bangladesh, fans fly to India to watch SS Rajamouli's film

Over 40 Bangladeshi fans flew down to Kolkata to find out the answer to why Kattappa killed Baahubali.

Kolkata, May 2, 2017 | UPDATED 16:43 IST
A +A -

The frenzy over SS Rajamouli's Baahubali 2 has reached epic proportions, with fans across the globe queuing up in massive numbers at theatres to watch the magnum opus. Not just in India, where the film has reportedly been released across 6500 screens, film buffs abroad are equally excited about the Prabhas-Rana Daggubati starrer. According to some reports, the Indian fantasy sequel has even out-grossed the Tom Hanks and Emma Watson-starrer The Circle at the American box office this weekend.

Not surprising then, that more than 40 Bangladeshi fans have travelled to India to watch the film in its very first week. The group flew down to Kolkata in a chartered flight on Monday from Dhaka to catch the evening show of the film at a south Kolkata multiplex. "We have been waiting for two years to know why Kattappa killed Baahubali! I'm a diehard Bollywood fan. We took the morning flight to get here to Kolkata to watch the evening show," said Tasleen, one of the fans who travelled from Dhaka to watch the film.

"Baahubali 1 was a huge hit. Even we were wondering why Baahubali was killed in the first part of the series. So we had to watch part two for the answer. Many of our friends who have watched it in India wanted to tell us the answer but we asked them not to since we wanted to watch it ourselves," another Bangladeshi fan, Farzana Brownia, told India Today.

Ebne Hasan Khan, a businessman from Dhaka, has come with his teenage son and daughter to watch the film. Khan says, while most in Bangladesh love Bollywood films, they barely had any idea about films from south India. "We didn't have much idea about films made in south India. After watching the Hindi version of Baahubali 1, we were mesmerised. We could not differentiate them from any of the Hollywood films," he said.

Khan says his 11-year-old daughter Athoi, who has grown up on a heavy dose of Hollywood films, is equally thrilled after watching the concluding part of the Baahubali franchise. "We are in a complete trance. The storyline was captivating and it felt like a better version of The Gladiator. The costumes were fascinating and royal! I feel immense pride as a south Asian that we could achieve this level of cinematic expertise," the teenager said.

Not just cine fans, but exhibitors are also thrilled with the unprecedented cross-border response. "We haven't seen such craze for any film in recent memory. It's a complete frenzy and the box office numbers are insane. We are starting every day with a morning 7.30am show since the release, and even that's housefull," claimed Subhasis Ganguli, Regional Director of Inox in east India.
