Just thinking how all the films I have watched of his, I didn't actually like. Why is he so hyped? I mean, the costume is great but other than that...I just lost my interest.

Are others even worse in BW? That's the plight of current BW 😆

apart from music, his movie are unwatchable. hddcs was the only last decent movie he made.

When he made Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam he spoke about colors. How the Aish's costume was part of narrative and why he chose red at the end. It was very impressive interview. And made him stand apart. I had watched Kamoshi twice (loved every song in that movie). HDDCS was his pinnacle of achievement. Perfect merger of commercial and aesthetic. Since then it has been slow degradation. All I can see is over indulgence - Sawaariya/Devdas/ Guzzarish plus loud - Ram Leela/ BM. Black is perhaps the only exemption.

He has forgotten the meaning of subtlety. His movies now hurt my ears and eyes. They are impressive show piece but lack soul. And yeah he needs to focus on just being director. He is trying to wear too many hats. 😊

Even Devdas was unbearable... His movies are unnecessary showy bordering on gaudiness...

If he makes a movie on Indian Independence struggle or about famine and poverty, I bet those movie will have similar sets, costumes and a dance competition between the ML's girlfriend and wife

Over-rated and unbearable

Being a big shahrukh fan, till date haven't watched devdas and has no plan in future too .

imitiaz slb vb all are same type of film makers..they make movies
which are like abstract art only the painter knows their own art..
bt it is so much hyped praised by so called intellectuals that the
common ppl like us even if we dnt understand we have to
pretend to actually have understood n liked it least we are called
dumb in short its the story of emperor with no cloths only one
in 100 will have the guts to call out the naked emperor 😆

in fact till date i have not figured out what was so special in
Slumdog millionaire as well?
they only showed India's poverty n the west seemed to like it..
so slb is like that only the opposite show the opulence n the
audience laps it up 😆

🤣 I guess I shouldn't laugh but could you imagine some poor sick mom and her daughter dancing like in Pinga! No way!!!
