I don't criticise Saif for naming his son. But his defence is laughable. (Taimur and Timur are different. Taimur was little violent. He can't name his son as Ram, despite having three Hindu grandparents out of four).

Why can't he say the obvious fact? He did not know Taimur's history properly before. He just liked his cousin's name and did not look at history. It is because of Kareena's trumpet blowing (that her husband is well read in history), people are bashing him.

so that means Hinduism and Buddhism are the oldest religion on Earth?
if history could record that Ashoka was a violent man then that same history
should have kept records if he had raped women plundered any other religious
institution since history does nt seems to record such grave crimes against his name
i am presuming he was not a savage like taimur...so i object to taimur n Ashoka
being pronounced in the same breadth ..it is blasphemy..

i have no problem who names their children what..ena meena dika kuch bhi rakho

besides this does he not understand by digging on this issue he is making the
kid's life difficult?he is being such a father who is milking his own son to get a
box office hit..its like the butcher feeds his lamb to make it fat n then sale off
that meat saif is exactly doing that with his own son..

Isn't your wife a practising Hindu? Why couldn't you have given your son who has half of his mother's genes a hindu name?

I really don't care about try hard celebs giving weird names to their kids but Saif and sharmila are anything but open minded.

or just a neutral name. Without emphasising and wiping away the other part. Given that child has Khan for a last name anyway.
He will eventually move on from KAreena and this child as well in another 10 years, because he is that way.

@Flipflop I am very well versed with history of ashoka ovio he was violent and he was called Chand ashoka but it was for the invaders who invaded India you also might be knowing about Alexander hindukush story what he have done for Hinduism and Buddhism nobody can ignore whole world knows about him...he was somebody similar to Alexander and both are called great..
and is taimur also the great ???...
and about saif issue..name woteva u want to name but plzzz don't play with sentiments of ppl of india...u are an indian and u r having the responsibility to protect our culture not distort it...
And forget about aurangzeb less said is better he imprisoned his own parents and u r comparing him with ashoka ??

Many "eminent secular historians" claimed Hinduism also has violent past, so no need to blame Aurangzeb for bring down Hindu temples. Blasphemy word is not in Hindu dictionary. If one understands Hinduism, they will know. It does not state which God you should follow, which food should eat, which dress you should wear. Only word which is banned, is the word "ban".

bt i personally do not see religion as tool of measuring humanity..
humanity perhaps can be measured only with tools like compassion contribution to society
n penance as there is no man or woman who has never wronged never hurt
anyone.
if u talk of any religion they are never even tolerant towards their own selves
that is why we have Shwetambar Digambar ,Shia Sunni , Catholic Protestant ,
Vaishnovites Shaivites..so i would not judge taimur or Ashoka on the basis
of their religious tolerance or intolerance i would only judge taimur n Ashoka on
the basis of constructive contribution n penance only..
when i have asked did Ashoka burn any Mosque raped any women
i had asked in the data frame whether he had committed the crimes as a human being
or in the name of religion.i do not feel religion n humanity can live together coz religion
always teaches I ME U where as humanity just talks of WE US OURS.

as for Hinduism is concerned if we consider the Srimad Bhagavad Gita
it tells us what to eat what to not eat whom to pray how to pray what are the
pious n non pious conducts that has to be followed or absented from.
