I'll be honest about my association with rap. I like classical and oldies music mostly. Honey Singh and Badshah were my introduction to rap so as one can expect I was completely turned off by their version of rapping. Except for the Shivaay rap by Badshah in that Devgan film I hated the shallow glorifications and female objectifications.

Being a Ranveer fan through Gullyboy I was introduced to Spitfire and from there on to the other OG rappers of India. I am a legitimate fan of them now. Divine's Jungli Sher, Spitfire's Black and several others are my favs now. These rappers are so talented that it reflects in each and every line they have penned and sung in GB album. The entire album is a wakeup call to the listeners demanding Indians to pay attention to their voices and ideas. I am hopeful that they will find a bigger audience after GB releases and wins more hearts.

As someone who values the soulful classics of the past, if I can connect so deeply with the Asli Hip Hop, I am sure many others will also be touched and influenced by what these artists are doing.
