@Malika- I think you said it better than I could. Nothing wrong with the plot or even the chosen ending but the execution was really lacklustre. I don't get how Taran on their first day out together started giving Shekhar those gooey eye looks when she had just been telling him how Amar was a part of her etc.

No doubt the focus was more on their relationship than Amar-Taran but even then neither of the couples convinced me that they were in love. Shekhar was pick of the lot but even then he got too preachy at times! In fact many scenes went on for too long and I was like come on, where is this going!

The climax was so unintentionally funny, I would take Milly of Tum bin jumping in the air any day over what I saw in TB2!

Their was just no emotional connection to the characters.

In the first one, I found Pia's grief SO well done! So realistic and even her warming up to Shekhar was played out so beautifully.

Mages - You're definitely right about Teri Fariyaad! Man Koi Fariyaad was the SOUL of Tum Bin, it played at the right times but Teri fariyaad had no such impact! I hate how they ruined 'Woh nazar chupke mujhe dekh rahi ho jaise'! Urghhh it was just put in the movie for the sake of it.

Also, Canada was like a character in the first film. Glasgow just seemed like a close option because of the cold weather mountains.

So disappointing!

why one could not feel the love of amar-taran and feels she loves shekhar becos with amar around...her heart...mind and eyes seeking for shekhar...thats no guilt but love...shekhar purposely distance herself...she should understood why...there is no reason on holding him back after amar's comeback...let him go...being away from...she could have realise better what she wants...whom she loves
the climax and ending is plain stupid...it looks forced...they should just end it with gurudwara scene...it totally breaks the flow of the story...

I don't understand what AS trying to convey...

But Mages it was quite clearly shown that she wanted to be with Amar. I guess you can say she loved both but she only chose Shekhar at first because she felt guilty of just telling him to go. She didn't want to seem selfish hence she unwillingly let Amar go.

If she continued with Shekhar, she wouldn't stop caring and thinking about Amar which was happening. With Shekhar gone, one can assume that she would've still felt bad for him but she would've just been with the man she's always loved which is Amar

i totally agree with Mallika...
i just could not connect with amar-taran and amar becos shekhar and shekhar-taran totally dominated the entire film...there is no connection b/w amar-taran...its bland...except for one part...becos that part of teri fariyaad is played on shekhar-taran...all others can't even connect with taran-amar...its bland...i would have prefered the entire song played on shekhar-taran...their emotions were bang on...

in the end...shekhar chooses amar for her and went away...when their relationship did not execute well and they end up with each other...thats funny...i still don't understand how much they love each other...why they love each other...nothing...very bland and plain...amar character doesn't have the spark nor charm unlike prequel's amar

whereas shekhar's character is powerful...overshadowed everything...even shekhar-taran relationship seems more stronger than amar-taran...this is the reason why the ending is stupid and clearly makes me feel taran loved shekhar(well she did)...she should end up with him...there is more depth in shekhar-taran relationship rather tham amar-taran...

AS made changes to the ending...so that it doesn't become TB 1 but i wish he did not change the ending...he should let it remain as shekhar-taran union...

the story is abt shekhar-taran...amar is a bad twist in TB 2...

i disagree on certain parts...taran did not fall in love with shekhar with the idea of falling in love...she falls in love with him in real...she began breathing and wanted to move on in life...wanted to live in her present not past...amar came and complicated things for her

no matter how much shekhar shout at his voice...she loves amar more than anything...more than anyone...sorry i don't buy it...its only makes me feels...he did the right to unite amar-taran becos of his guilt...even in TB 1 if amar was alive...shekhar would have unite amar-piya and leaves...its the guilt that makes him hear and do the right...not his heart...

i really can't connect with amar-taran...no depth in their relationship...a few tears won't make a connect how much they love each other...there should be a depth in a relationship

the depth of relationship...i saw in shekhar-taran relationship...the connection i saw in shekhar-taran relationship...the ending just screwed it up...

even till the end...the lady is bloody confused whom she loves...she hugs amar but crying for shekhar...what she wants in her life...she doesn't know herself...when shekhar tells her abt amar...she is just plain confused and started thinking is it true...did i really was broken and died million deaths when i told amar abt shekhar...and shekhar went on...she just kept quiet...her silence was enough to let shekhar go...she is confused...very confused...till the end...

the fact after telling amar...she never felt that way at all...if it would be shown...it make sense...she was more concern abt shekhar...his indifferent behaviour towards her...

the only person i really had tears for is shekhar...his emotions...his pain...his anguish...his guilt...penance was shown with depth and connection...i had tears in all his drunk scenes especially the part after taran gives him back the watch and he was drunk...tears flows down his eyes...he truly loved her...he could not forget her thus he tried to find solace in alcohol...but that too never helps...he was burning inside...his love for taran...his guilt for amar...aditya nailed it...shekhar is a beautiful characterisation in both Tum Bin...it mades me feel if amar was back in TB 1...Prishekhar would have been equally suffering like Adishekhar did...

i really can't get the depth with the relationship with amar-taran...i could not feel connected...there is no depth in their relationship...i feel she is more guilty towards amar than shekhar such was the execution...amar was back...she should have let shekhar go...a millions times she comes infront of him made things complicated for him...when shekhar decided to go...

Even neha says in one of her IV...she loves both men deeply...

the truth is yes amar-taran ends up together but noone can love taran like shekhar does...even taran's love for amar looks nothing infront of shekhar's love so does amar...such is the characterisation of shekhar
