There is nothing wrong! But the movie actually complimented rafi a lot! Cannot believe people only picked up on one negative sentence amd took it out of context! People should watch the whole movie and then decide! After saying that the sentence could have been avoided!

Please don't generalize. There are people who may have some opinion but they need not belong to either of the sides.

Rafi was a legend...why mock legends 🤔 And if its okay to mock legends then why were people so angry when Tamnay mocked Lata M? Twinkle Khanna was so offended with Nasiruddin's opinion on her father.
Ofcourse we live in a democratic society and hence Sonu has the right to support or say whatever he wants to.Or may be he can't coz he is not a superstar and not a sought after singer anymore.

singers in india are not considered as superstars but..he contributed in making srk, salman superstars with his melodious voice on screen even karan johar says jab woh din ayega or main mar jownga toh kal ho na ho ya kabhi alvida na kehna one of these two song would be playing on tv

Naah thats not what I meant...people can have negative opinions about legends.
What I am trying to say is why people are getting upset that Sonu Nigam and Bappi Lahiri amongst others made a statement...thats their viewpoint right? And if people want to get upset, they can...
So if people can say that celebs speaking in favor of Rafi Sahab are attention and publicity seeking people, then even non-celebs like me can make such statements.
I have friends too who are neutral but there are others who didnt like it...however to each his own

No problem in expressing objection if they are offended, if they felt the late Rafi Saab was insulted.

Its a democractic country so everyone has freedom to express their objections in a peaceful manner, as long as they dont go breaking things in KJo's office.

Same way KJo also had the freedom to show a bindaas character glibly pass a not so respectful comment abt the legendary singer. Alizeh character is irreverant in many ways so it can be taken as part of her characterization instead of thinking KJo deliberately insulted Rafi Saab.

So like Kjo had the freedom to show such a dialogue, the others also have the freedom to object to that dialogue.

Many of us object to the objectification of all women in item songs. Does that make BW stop doing vulgar, cheap item numbers?

So many objectionable dialogues, songs, dances, scenes are shown in BW movies. We are offended by them and express our objection but that doesnt make them stop, does it?

When Sonu supported Pakistan artists he was using his freedom of expressions.

Now Sonu opposing the Mocking of his idol he wants 2 minutes fame.

So Sonu's FOE is expired now??

If people have a right to be upset about a mere line of a movie which is not even that disrespectful, then one also have the right to find the whole thing silly and superfluous!

This is what I meant...when people said he wanted two minutes fame I was wondering why he couldn't defend his idol if he felt the remark was insulting.
