Bigg Boss 7 fame Ajaz Khan booked for creating communal tensions concerning a gangster's death

Actor Ajaz Khan, known for his appearance in Bigg Boss 7, is once again facing legal challenges. The Indore Police have initiated a case against him following a social media post that allegedly incited discord between communities. The complaint was filed by Irshad Hakim, a local resident.

According to Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajesh Dandotiya, Ajaz Khan has been charged under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). These include Section 196, which addresses promoting enmity between different groups; Section 223, related to disobeying lawful orders from public servants; and Sections 353(1) (b) and 353(1) (c), which pertain to statements that could lead to public mischief. The police are investigating the matter further, and the charges reflect the seriousness with which the authorities are treating the alleged offenses.

The controversy surrounding Ajaz Khan began with an Instagram "Story" he posted regarding the death of the notorious gangster, Salman Lala. Despite the ephemeral nature of Instagram Stories, which automatically delete after 24 hours, the content quickly gained widespread attention. Police allege that the video contained objectionable statements intended to incite animosity and tension between different communities.

"An investigation has been launched into the matter, and we have also emailed Instagram's parent company, Meta, requesting a detailed analysis of Khan's account and appropriate action," Dandotiya said.

This recent legal trouble is not the first instance of Ajaz Khan's encounters with the law. Previously, he was arrested in connection with a drug case, which led to a 26-month prison sentence. He was eventually released on bail in June 2023. Following his release, he shared his difficult experiences in prison with Bombay Times, describing them as harrowing and expressing his gratitude for surviving. He also mentioned his efforts to restart his career and seek opportunities in the entertainment industry.

The individual at the center of the Instagram post, Salman Lala, was a gangster involved in a synthetic drug smuggling case. Tragically, he died last month in a Sehore district pond while reportedly attempting to evade a police team. The New Indian Express reported that Lala, who was only 25 years old, had over thirty criminal cases pending against him.
