Whats the problem if celebs take a stand for the Mohd Rafi controversy

Okay so i am new here and have been a silent reader of this forum since a long time...and I wouldn't have made this post but this topic compelled me to make one...
Members of this forum have been saying things like Sonu Nigam got free publicity because of the Rafi Sahab controversy and all that...but why can't Sonu or any other member of the music fraternity voice their opinion amd if they do, why is the word *free publicity* thrown around?
Rafi Sahab is a true legend...I am 19 years old and for me, Rafi Sahab is bhagwan. His versitality, vocal range has never been matched by any singer till date.
People say that this thing is being blown out of proportion but is it not understandable tha people are hurt? I know that in ADHM Ranbir is a Rafi Sahab fan and all that, but that comment could've been totally avoided. If they wanted to show Alizeh wasn't a Mohd Rafi fan, they could've had her saying anything else...but mocking a legend is really sad. I can say the same for the Manoj Kumar controversy that happened during OSO.
Today if some great filmmaker was mocked by anyone from the Music Fraternity, I am sure Karan Johar would be the first one to comment how disheartened he is.
Karan Johar may be a Mohd Rafi fan and that may not be his personal opinion, but today if I were to make a film and have such a joke on any celebrity whose fan I am, I would've avoided it all together...
U have to respect your seniors and elders and even if it was a joke, it was not at all funny.

Anyways, I would like to hear your opinion on this, whether or not you agree with me. I am not ehre to fight.

Also, it is very much possible that Alizeh was trying to pull Ayan's leg for saying he wanted to be Mohd. Rafi. When Ayan sings well during the Channa Mereya sequence, she actually says "Tum toh Mohd. Rafi bann gaye!" as a compliment. How come you are turning a blind eye to that?

Yes celebs get mocked all the time, that is true. But certain celebs are legends...and its not just Rafi Sahab I am talking about, even if a senior filmmaker or actor have been made fun of I'd have the same reaction. Freedom of speech and all that is there, but why not avoid certain things? Yes maybe she was trying to pull his leg but why not say something else altogether.
Her opinion can be stated in a different way for people like Rafi Sahab

EDIT --- as to who is 'correct' -- well, opinions are opinions.. what is correct to one person, is not correct to another person. One cannot force theirs on another. And, as long as it's not causing any harm to peace - law and order - it's alright.

All I am saying is that certain opinions can be stated in a different way...if a common man says the same thing it doesn't make any difference, but if a celebrity does, it make a huge difference...

I should've specified, my bad...the character in the movie.
Ab aaj agar u or me say what Alizeh said in the movie no one cares, but its a different case with celebrities esp actors...it could be the actor or the character he/she plays.

Nothing wrong...But some idiots thinks FOE is one way process.
