The BJP not condemning that statement of the BJP leader says a lot. I am sure there are some fine examples of tolerance too. But India has never been as intolerant in the recent times as it is today.

Instead of condemning him/her, the Govt is actually offering its support and is meeting the filmmaker concerned regarding the issue as a matter of urgency. The actions do the talking in this case.

The producers approached the police and are now approaching the govt. This is on one hand.

Kashyap is not connected to the movie. He tweeted to the PM as a distressed member of the film fraternity, and did so in a respectful manner. What he got in return was abuse. And the abuse was not from BJP bhakts or trolls but from the national spokesperson himself. None of the party members condemned his statement, and just because the govt is helping out KJo (in other words, doing its duty), it does not mean it can turn a blind eye to the despicable behaviour of its leader.

Didn't see the outcry when a Minister of State, Babul Supriyo got hit by stone a day back.Or who cares if students detain VC, profs ..or whatever is happening in Bihar .
Right wing and Left wing, feed on each other. It's a role play.

The day these media and people start focusing beyond Delhi and Mumbai, it would do India so well.

yes MNS people protesting in that theater got arrested. Doesn't it signify that the Police is playing its part properly... still KJO is crying... how much publicity for ADHM does he want ?

The State Govt has already done what was essential. Support from Rajnath Singh was really not needed for what is primarily a regional problem. I don't think that this is the Central Govt's duty.
There are fools in all parties; instead of merely condemning what they say, it is more important to act, which is what the Govt is doing in what is quite clearly not a matter that the Central Govt is obliged to sort out.

It's important to do both; act and condemn. If a citizen of a country cannot respectfully complain to his PM without being abused by his partymen, and if they are discouraging more citizens from voicing their concerns by intimidating them like this, it is extremely important the ruling party like BJP condemned their national spokesperson's words. If you think otherwise, then let's agree to disagree.

Regarding why approach HM... Mrs Khan gave you a good reply on the same in the other read, so I wont bother reiterating the same.

A BJP MLA has issued a threat against theater owners in Hyderabad for screening ADHM. In West Bengal VHP and Shiv Sena have issued threats. So threats are popping up at several places from parties aligned to the ruling party. In such a scenario its best to approach the HM rather than run from one state to another.

So, no, we don't have a fairy tale narrative as the writer would have us believe.

Bold - Condemn the above statement...Anurag doesn't deserve a compliment.

Havent seen either loyalty or Faithfulness

Disclaimer - based on past performance...I assume the BOLD is untrue

He made a statement against (yes it was against, no matter how he tries to Wiggle out of it) the PM and got abused for it..fair enugh to say there was curtailing of speech..few years back, when another party was ruling, there was a caricature on Google against the president of the said ruling party and Google got banned for some days.. was that LESS intolerant?
In the recent "intolerant years" a group of students put up slogans against CRPF officers, hail a terrorist as a martyr, talk of Bharat ki Barbadi; and the chief culprit is travelling to various places and still creating ruckus..nothing beyond an FIR happened..try this in another country and let's see the steps taken by "tolerant" governments.. The BW brigade first talks of culture-exchange, then questions the very intention of the Army, makes excuses for why artists across the border "might not have made statemnts" and finally now has come to the root cause of the outrage --- Money.. the fact that they sit in their homes ans make all these statements with no repercussions beyond internet trolling speaks volumes of the "intolerance"..
