The Telegraph reports that cops have assured all help from their end with Deputy Commissioner of Police Ashok Dudhe clarifying: "Mumbai police will provide adequate protection to cinema theatres as and when required."

It's clear that not only has the government at any level not called for a ban, the administration of the sole state where ADHM faces threats of vandalism from a marginalised political party has promised all help and protection. The cops have assured that all multiplexes and even single screen theaters would be adequately insured and protected. And to suggest that a few non-participating single-screen owners can even mildly affect ADHM's box-office collections is laughable.

👏👏👏 good.. security is most important... this is the mumbai that i know 😊

I liked two points from another article:

Point 1:

It is petty of us to think that by letting Pakistani artistes work in Indian films we are somehow denigrating ourselves, harming national interest. In fact, when a Pakistani comes and seeks work and identity in our industry, wants to become part of our culture, reach out to our masses, it automatically underlines the fact that India is the dream destination for artistes from the neighbouring country.
It shows, we are the promised cultural El Dorado of the region. At the risk of sounding jingoistic, it won't be wrong to argue that Pakistanis queuing up in Bollywood showcase our cinematic superiority, a war won without a single shot being fired. So, let artists from the region come and work here, experience the grandeur of our film industry, its liberal values and tell their country of our cultural richness, our soft power.

Point 2:
The hypocrites who think watching an Indian film in an Indian theatre insults our soldiers can always wait for the pirated version to appear on one of the banned torrent sites.

Some BJP leader called Anurag Kashyap a dog for questioning the PM. Such is our tolerance level.

So, no, we don't have a fairy tale narrative as the writer would have us believe.

tolerant and intolerant both exist in our country...but pseudo humanitarians only see the intolerance...they only see MNS' hooliganism but not administration's security against such hooliganism...they have so much to say against india when there is no ban placed but have nothing to say against the country that has actually placed bans

I agree...I would blame the media for this. As they highlight the threats of people like MNS but dont highlight the assurances of the government. There is extensive coverage on Times Now for some MNS workers tearing posters. How many covered the police statement?
Its media which encourages and gives legitimacy to such people which results in people who live outside(the state or country) that we are in a state of complete lawlessness.

For every example of intolerance, there are countless examples of tolerance, otherwise the country would not have made it this far with so much diversity.
The Home Minister is meeting Karan Johar today and the Ministry has made it clear that it will not ban Pakistani artists. So no matter what one BJP leader said, it doesn't make it the Government's policy or mean that most people are with the MNS on this issue.

Akash Banerjee @akashbanerjee

Akash Banerjee Retweeted Kiren Rijiju

Don't question PM Don't question Gau Rakshaks Don't question Intolerance Don't question Army Don't question Acche Din #DICKtatorshipHaiKya?

Akash Banerjee added,

Kiren Rijiju @KirenRijiju
A new fashion has developed in India. A student or a film person can put a question or speak against PM without any logic to get into news.

The BJP not condemning that statement of the BJP leader says a lot. I am sure there are some fine examples of tolerance too. But India has never been as intolerant in the recent times as it is today.
