you wanna talk about 15 seconds of a song? let me mention a whole movie...PC completely overshadowed DP in BM despite the later having the title role of Mastani...and because PC was so good as Kashibai...it kind of turned baijrao n mastani's romance into a damn squib n not epic at all like it was intended to be

Did I call Deepika's Mastani performance the best? Infact it was one of the bad ones. And that's because she has set high standards through her previous roles. Oh and you can call Deepika howsoever bad as you want. That's your opinion and what you think doesn't matter to me.

I don't get your point though. Anushka too was supposed to play the role of a dancer. Yet she got owned badly by PC. You need to be real bad for your bad performance to show in a manner of 15 seconds. 😆

yeh jus like the 10-15 seconds of DP I've seen in XXX teaser...esp when she says her dialogues. Jokes apart i really like DP...i never said she was bad in BM, but i do think she is overrated..she gets away with alot coz of the way she looks but i guess thats how it is in bollywood.

I think she may be overrated on this forum. Haven't exactly seen much appreciation for her in the outside world.

I, for one, started finding her tolerable post NH10. Before that, I thought she did the same thing over and over again and was annoying at it to boot. Also found her off screen persona obnoxious.

I liked her in NH10. She did her part. Was quite powerful as Meera and portrayed the anguish and ferocity of a woman in danger very well. No complaints there.

I didn't find her astounding in ADHM's trailers/teasers/songs like the rest of the forum. She was okay- standard Hindi film heroine. I do think she lacks screen presence, 'cause the teaser was all about Aish and how she sizzled on screen. After that, failed to see anything worth comment from Anushka.

I agree with Sherlock that in this age of mediocre actors, people rave over anything they find half-decent.

i have often felt the same about anushka earlier

in fact i didn't quite like her in Sultan tbh neither in JTHJ or DDD

BV i have never seen to know where she went wrong if she did

but i have liked her in movies like Rab Ne, BBB, LVRB (where she looked her best) and of course NH10 (very underrated performance)

but promos of ADHM have really made me like her- there are lots of scenes shown which give a clear hint that it is not a one track role where she is just being bubbly- we see her bubbly, we see her crying, we see various emotions there and she seemed to have nailed those without going OTT or underplaying them (for me at least)

so i am definitely looking to see ADHM for her

but she is not overrated- she has 1 filmfare award- they have not showered her with awards where we say- no she did not deserve or why her etc etc

in fact so many of these do get some where they themselves feel embarrassed to get one- Deepika got some screen award for HNY she dedicated to kangana for Queen..so anushka has none of these so i actually don't feel she is overrated at all

I prefer her to a lot of actresses . One of the few who can emote naturally. I would have agreed about her screen-presence had she not made her mark in a Salman movie ( didn't see the movie, just going by the trailers and reviews) and now ADHM. I didn't think much of her debut but BBB she was brilliant , way too natural and just too darn good.

NH10 blew me . Maybe it was the movie or her, but such a fine movie . For me she deserved the awards for this one. Not only for acting but what a fine brave step for a first time producer. All for her insecurities, I don't see any of her contemporaries making such movies.

The only movie she totally missed the mark for me was Bombay Velvet, actually even RK too. DDD was hardly any arc. Meh.

She suffered stereotypical roles thanks to YRF, same seem to have happened to PC Jr. But ANushka has stayed on and I would prefer her PH's movies than the other ones.

Might be unpopular opinion, but Ash did nothing to me while Anu stole the show atleast from trailers etc from FK, RK and Ash.

Overrated to me is DP winning Filmfare for Ram-Leena. I like her but dang that one stumped me. 😆

Quality of actresses have degressed . A good actress = Fashion+ Dance+ Figure+ BF + everything else but acting .

Anu is amongst better ones. She may feel overrated when compared to Madhuri n Sri, but in this generation , she is one of the best.

I fully agree with this part of your post

yeh she only has one FF best supporting actress award in 2013...it's a shame she didn't win a single award anywhere for NH10 despite them giving awards to DP for even stuff like HNY. DP has won wayy more than her share of awards...she actually has more best actress awards than kareena, PC, kangana all of whom r better actresses than her.
