adi is a smart ambitious businessman n takes calculative risks
reaping rich dividends ..
while kjo is a dreamer n takes limited risk ad to that
he is a spendthrift.
so yrf doing better than dharma otherwise both
are financially stable n sound..

bt one thing kjo can never go paupers as he is
versatile he has fashion sense choreography
n hosting skills to overcome any debacle..
where as adi will drown if any big project
fails ..he has no personal skill to pull back..

True and add Darr Fiasco as well to it.

But Aamir never worked with YRF after Darr fiasco until D3. Salman first movie was ETT for YRF.

There were rumors that YRF was going bankrupt and thats when they signed on Salman for ETT and Aamir for D3.

@hermoine:he felt that he was cheated with Parampara that's y he called for joint narration as he didn't trust Yash Chopra...

I don't think it's a matter of goodwill as much as stories/directors. Dharma is very 'young'...as in the directors can only make, and generally only make films for the younger actors...rom-coms, family dramas. Their core audience is the 16-25 age group. They don't know what to do with stars 40+ in lead roles having to play their age. The films Sallu and Aamir sign with YRF are all mostly action based...and Dharma doesn't have directors who can pull that off: Karan Malhotra with Brothers. So there's nothing appealing for Khans there...whereas with YRF, they can pull it off. Even if the movie is, trash it'll make money types.

I hve not thought much about this but as a producer and ph I still pRefer kjo/dharma to Adi/yrf..
Couple of years ago dharma was doing very well whereas yrf had string of flops .. dharma's recent joint collaborations haven't been working..

But reason I prefer kjo is bcis it's only after kjo that dharma is what it is today.. almost on par with yrf.. during yash johar and yash Chopra time the difference was huge. Johar could not compete with yrf.. so the goodwill that someone said.. Adi is reaping the benefits of yash chopra's goodwill.. post yash Chopra:'s death actually yrf had lot of flops.. the Khan's hits kind of saved them..

And however much kjo gets bashed I think the new talent that both yrf and dharma get.. I feel kjo treats them and handles their career better than Adi..

Not true. Yash Johar founded Dharma in 70s as well.

Salman and Aamir never wanted to work for YRF because there were rumors they paid less to actors.

YRF went through a bad patch when UTV was doing good. Thats when they changed their startegy and got Aamir and Salman on board.

hmm.. good to know that. I made the claim because i just know dharma after kuch kuch hota hai...so thought it's 90s.. but yrf, i knew since amitabh bachchan days

I'd think yes. But, the only films of YRF that have really been game-changer-type movies are the likes of Rocket Singh, Band Baaja Baraat & Dum Laga Ke Haisha.
For Dharma , Kapoor & Sons and Wake Up Sid

But the biggest golden-egg that YRF has which they're too stupid to realise, is Shimit Amin

Chalo serious reply deti hoon...
Film-making is a largely like a project ie you gather resources and execute a project. KJo has tried but not really been successful in executing big projects. His only big projects in recent times were Agneepath and then Brothers. Rest have been small to medium budget films apart from his own directorial. Other potential biggies like Vettai remake, RL remake have been scrapped probably because they were two hero films.
Unlike Kjo Adi Chopra already had a setup handed over to him. YC already setup the YRF studios and many other supporting businesses which keep bringing money when things are tight. So he already has lots of resources at his disposal when he wants to make a biggie. The Khans primarily look the deal the producers offer. Anyway these days they either produce their own films or work with YRF. Dharma probably cant afford to give them huge deals like YRF does. Thats my assessment of the situation. And why point out at KJo? Which other PH apart from YRF is working with the Khans anyway?
I also feel Dharma is hampered by young directors ie they all make younger films. Few who could have made bigger films have problems like Nikhil Advani quit Dharma, Puneet and Karan Malhotra delivered huge duds after a successful film, Tarun Mansukhani had personal problems, Ayan is stuck to Ranbir. The rest of Dharma's directors prefer the young crowd or have shown no interest in approaching one of the Khans. Dharmas many coproductions have also failed as he shoved down the SOTY kids there. I think only co-prodcution that has worked is 2States. KJo is a better mentor than a producer. Adi meanwhile only thinks of his films and expects unquestioned loyalty. Anyway KJo seems to have realized he cant keep making films only for the SOTY kids and has few films in the pipeline which do not have them. Overall pretty much everyone apart from Ajay has good rapport with him and are willing to work with him including Salman and Aamir with the right projects. Also given the current scenario I agree with what KRK said here:

Undoubtedly now @yrf is no.1 production house in Bollywood which is doing films with all 3 khans at a time. So congratulations to clever Adi

KRK @kamaalrkhan 3h3 hours ago
All corporate houses are closing down so @RedChilliesEnt @DharmaMovies n @yrf have chances to control Bollywood to become biggest in busines
