Imagine a person has a brain tumour, but everyone keeps telling him it's just a migraine, eventually the cancer spreads throughout the body and it's too late, this is what has happened with Islamism. For decades the Islamist ideology has been allowed to be propagated throughout the world unfettered, we now reap the misery that unfolds today.

The first step towards a solution is to address the problem, without knowing what the problem is, there can be no hope for a solution. Unfortunately we want to blame everything except address the religious ideology that is driving all of this. Without tackling this ideology, you cannot stop it.

What has western foreign policy got to do with ISIS enslaving Yazidi women and children? what has western foreign policy got to do with throwing gays off rooftops, beheading apostates, stoning women for alleged adultery, amputating thieves, destroying ancient ruins, with Sunni's drilling holes into Shias?

Why are western born college-educated affluent Muslims, who have nothing to do with the war in middle-east, leaving everything behind to join ISIS? Why are there more British Pakistanis joining ISIS than the British Army?

If they're not Muslims then what are they? Hindu, Buddhist, Jains, Christians, Jews, Mormons? Why do they give scriptural justifications for everything they do?

By saying they're not Muslims, effectively what you're saying is that "I don't want to address an issue that will make me uncomfortable, I'll just prefer to ignore it and pretend it has nothing to do with religion".

Okay... In this case

Imagine a child that insists he is a grown up, an adult... Goes to the extent to mimic grown up behaviour without clarity, depth, understanding.

Does the adult treat the child as a grown up?

They say actions speak louder than words... And this can be seen clearly in the terrorist claims. They claim to be Muslims and yet they practice very little of Islam.

One should listen to the interviews held by released hostages to know how Islamic they are.

I would say rather than question majority of the Muslim who denounce terrorists as Muslim... Question the minority terrorists Muslims on why they claim to be Muslims...

When they state their right of Jihad... One can counter that Islam condones the lose of innocent lives.
When they claim the Holy Prophet fought in battles... One can counter that all those battles were fought in defence and not in attack and most importantly were not fought cowardly, by attacking ones back. Every person was given the opportunity to defend their life during battle.
Am sure there is lots more out there...

So instead of taking the easy route to question the moderate, peaceful Muslim... Question the extremist and breakdown his confidence that what he is doing is for God and for religion.

Every human has a limitation... That limitation comes about from many factors some of which are knowledge, understanding, environment... Muslims are humans too... Hence they err... Cause one can understand anything up to their level of understanding.

Islam clearly says that one is not allowed to judge a person and his relationship with God and in other area... So anyone questioning or making statements on the Khans is wrong. Islam tells us to focus on ourselves and strengthen our own individual bond.

Regarding the levels of human understanding and comprehension... I will quote part of a lecture that left an impact. I had heard it over ten years ago.

"... Humans have 3 lives. The first is in the womb. The baby in the womb has to die in the womb to be born into the world. This world is the second life. The human dies in this world to be born in the next world. A world where the soul is free from the limitations of the body. This is the third life..."

It is amazing how death which signifies an end at the same brings about life which signifies a beginning.

One might wonder, why state that the baby is dying in the womb to be born in the world... This is because should the baby go back in the womb... He will drown coz he can now no longer live surrounded by fluid.

This speaker taught me that one only understands situations, events to their own personal level of comprehension. Once a person accepts that there are different levels of comprehending a situation... The question of why rarely arises.

Sorry if I have gone slightly off topic.

ISIS are not picking and choosing parts of Islam like what most Muslims do, they are taking the whole package and implementing it as it is. They are following Muhammad's example, the vast majority of the wars Muhammad waged were offensive, you don't end up conquering the entire Arabian peninsular through defensive warfare, that's ridiculous.

Aamir Khan is not even a Muslim by Islam's definition, everything he does is haram, the Quran specifically refers to people like him as hypocrites.

@bold you are very wrong here... My advise would be to seek correct information through thorough research and not via Google. Google is not enough.

Just because he studied Islam does not mean what he is doing in the name of Islam is correct. If that is the arguement than all those who studied Islam would have the same or similar ideology. In the end it is all about comprehension and intention.

Actually there is lots of Hadith warning Muslims about the the people that will have surnames of cities... Speak somebody with more knowledge than me to understand and be informed.

Every religion has been attacked from within... Be it Christianity... Be it Islam. It has never been against an outside element. I state these two because I am aware of these two.

Similarly, who are some muslims to say terrorists are *not* muslim? Terrorists are following the koran and interpreting it pretty by the book. Instead of ignoring the violent killing and stoning passages like moderate muslims do, terrorists follow it word for word. So who can point fingers and say "we are muslim but they are not."

Also I find it really wrong and disturbing than whenever the topic of Islamic terrorism comes up, people try to shut down the discussion by saying non-muslims need to "learn" and "read the koran" and "google searches aren't enough" and so on.

To be honest, nobody actually needs to do any of that nor even has the time or desire for it. People react based on what they see in the world. When there is bombing and killing every other day from people resorting to koranic teachings, they are going to form an opinion based on that. No amount of clever lecturing will change the feeling that all this death and violence causes.

The question is why Aamir Khan and the likes of him refuse to comment now and in similar situations when he didn't have any problem voicing his opinion during 2015 award waspsi period?

He found the country totally peaceful and safe to live up until that?! What changed during 2015?

Ugh .. this guy sickens me.. I don't understand how does he even have "fans" . And no, it isn't just the "uneducated" or "ignorant" people who follow him . Some of my friends on Facebook who are on FB and are Muslims also Like and Follow his page. And all of them are perfectly reasonable and well-educated people who have seen the world and sensible and "progressive" in their conversations in real-life..
So when I see all this on FB, I just can't understand it. I feel like tearing my hair.. Like W*F is wrong with you?!!!

Faith isn't "man-made" but religion is. Religion becomes a "problem" only because of its spokespersons, who talk themselves into a position of power to influence people's minds. They misuse the power and do a great disservice to that power.

Religion and religious practices have to evolve with time and what goes against humanity and basic decency should stop being preached by these spokespersons.

( P.S. No, I am NOT generalizing. It is my view limited to what I have seen on my FB page. I also have close friends who are Muslims and do not follow pages of these zealous religious bigots.)

(P.P.S Felt like posting this long P.S. because of all the knee-jerk reactions online on FB and Twitter where everything is countered with terms like Islamophopia and "haterzzz")
