I don't understand how does he even have "fans" . And no, it isn't just the "uneducated" or "ignorant" people who follow him . Some of my friends on Facebook who are on FB and are Muslims also Like and Follow his page. And all of them are perfectly reasonable and well-educated people who have seen the world and sensible and "progressive" in their conversations in real-life..
This is exactly the problem. The road to extremism is very easy and slippery. What else explains privileged muslims who grew up in America and Europe turning into terrorists and running to go join ISIS?

I have seen amongst some 'moderates' how the more pious and more staunchly muslim you appear to be, the more respectable is it. Women who wear a burkha will be considered a better muslim than the ones who don't. The men who wear a beard are better muslims than the ones who don't. The more displays a person makes of how much they pray and how much they attend mosque, etc. In the race to be the 'better' muslims, people become more hardened in the religion and unwilling to see other ways as also being good.

Even in the United States of America, where you have freedom of expression - freedom of speech is guaranteed by the constitution - where you can say the most offensive thing about the President, God, Jesus Christ( and this is a Christian majority country) and walk freely and fearlessly, but say one small word about one particular religion and it's founder - they get death threats, bomb thrown... They have to go into hiding... Why?

And nobody condemns it, not even the liberals, fair leftists condemn it, if anything they condemn the person who is attacked for exercising his freedom of speech

Similarly, who are some muslims to say terrorists are *not* muslim? Terrorists are following the koran and interpreting it pretty by the book. Instead of ignoring the violent killing and stoning passages like moderate muslims do, terrorists follow it word for word. So who can point fingers and say "we are muslim but they are not."

Also I find it really wrong and disturbing than whenever the topic of Islamic terrorism comes up, people try to shut down the discussion by saying non-muslims need to "learn" and "read the koran" and "google searches aren't enough" and so on.

To be honest, nobody actually needs to do any of that nor even has the time or desire for it. People react based on what they see in the world. When there is bombing and killing every other day from people resorting to koranic teachings, they are going to form an opinion based on that. No amount of clever lecturing will change the feeling that all this death and violence causes.

From the articles I have read and videos I have watched... Some from famous journalists who were held hostages... They claimed that they never saw the terrorists read Quran nor pray. That most of those recruited don't follow the religion.

Also recently in the news a Saudi prince was arrested in Lebanon for trying to smuggle drugs to ISIS fighters. Drugs that makes a person more aggressive and animalistic in nature. In fact Lebanon is suffering greatly and there might soon be a reshuffle of govt (saying it politely) cause the govt refuses to release the prince.

ISIS which are like some 00.2/3 % of the 1.6 billion muslim population are following true islam but the rest arent 😆 If Islam was always like this , all muslims should have been like ISIS

Zakir Naik doesn't even represent most Muslims, his views are so wrong and so pathetic that I don't even care if people bash me for "bashing him" I don't deny I used to listen to him when I was younger but as I got older and slightly wiser I knew his true colours, Aamir should have ripped him apart!
