Mallika, I meant to say that these super rich kids have it so easy to enter into these top schools to graduate from. They really dont slog their way like other children do. They get away with mediocre grades. Forget high flying 85% or more. Getting 55% may be best score they get. Infact even kids of business mughals dont study they have a pretty fun life and get into best colleges in USA- Harvard or Princeton or Yale and so on. Sad but true.
^^This 55% or whatever doesn't mean anything outside of India. Studying like crazy and memorizing to get some percentage doesn't have value outside India.

If they want to get into those American colleges, they would have to take the SAT and submit their grades from their high school classes. One measures aptitude and the other dedication and hard work.

There's also a third component of what else you're doing with your life. If you have great extracurriculars like doing volunteer work or inventing an app or running a successful blog or millions of other things... those things are also considered.

The rest of the world does not work like India.

Ram: Well money always pays, we know that already but apparently Aryan is a good student. So even a 80% will suffice in such institutes. Buying a degree is dangerous but yes, a tonnes of them do buy seats, I've seen it all around myself. But at the end of the day, a brand name is just that- A brand name. What you do with it is what makes your name & fame. :)

anonymous39, you are getting it wrong, no one is pulling Aryan down. He hasnt achieved anything yet except a celebrity surname so from what can he be really pulled down?😕

Its not India vs USA, thats unfair. USA is super power and well developed.

All degrees hold value in my eyes, its the purpose behind doing it and yes making effort to excel in it. Thats most important. Why should Aryan go into acting?😕

Why cant Aryan do something he is really interested in? If he is good in science then thats best for him. Of course he needs Dad's money, studying is NOT cheap in USA. UCLA will have its own reasons for doing something or not doing, significant is what they actually end up doing. Of course MONEY matters and branding too.

Navya comes across as a bohemian girl, and what is with the tag she was wearing😒, its too desperate to be of some kind of wanna be sexy image.🤢. Why do they want to ape the US Pop stars? they are different culture, instead be yourself.

Oye,

Aryan, Navya and her brother have been away studying in London since they were kids, I think preteen or teen. They have lived their lives and their formative years in western culture. This is them being themselves. They are what is called third culture kids, exposed to two different cultures and forming a third culture taking what they want from both cultures they were exposed to. I can speak with some authority on this as it is my experience and I have heard what you have said @bold time and time again about me. Heavy Indian culture at home, hence the love for Indian movies and music but US culture is who I am because that is what I know and was exposed to mostly as I am from there.

Well I differ here because I have seen and met students from vernacular medium memorizing the dictionary to clear GMAT/GRE. You may be shocked but even those appearing for USMLE have done that. So rattafication works for Indian students, dont ask me how or why because point is it is working in actual. On getting other things, well its being done from years on😆😆 I would desist myself from posting the details but yes everything is managed beautifully and at times US Univ also guide you towards it.

Rest of the WORLD only inspired India into it😆😆

You can think whatever you want of course. I personally don't know about Aryan either. I think it's a little unfair to automatically assume he's a bad student though.

To be honest, life is unfair. His being rich means that he got a great education from great schools. Both the Ambani school he went to before and Sevenoaks later and now UCLA. Even if he got only average grades, he would still be much better off than than the random kid studying in the middle of nowhere India and getting 90%.

The quality of the schools and teachers and material matters way more than people think.

😕😕 Are u attacking me?
I havent demeaned anything only said one should not get into drugs and bohemian lifestyle. Where did I say any other culture is bad? Pop culture has dangerous mix of drugs and alcohol thats where one needs to keep away. Aping anyone is wrong in my view.

😆😆😆 I didnt say Aryan is bad, I just stated I am skeptical of him being a good student.

No its not like that absolutely, people prove themselves and then the world believes. The onus lies on the individual. A genius rises above all adversities as proven time and again
