Ram: No I believe he's a pretty good student but seats are bought even when they don't have the required grades, I used to be friends with a few who bought their way through Ivy Leagues & a Seven Sister all the while claiming you cannot do so abroad. LOL. If you've the money & the pull, you very much can but, doesn't mean you don't have good marks, might not be 90-95+ But would be good enough.

Actually India and the US are very different in certain ways. I don't know why people are trying to bring down Aryan by saying he's probably not doing pure math or science with the assumption that he must be dumb.

Liberal arts are very valuable in the western world and ivy league colleges are liberal arts colleges. In India, the main concern is just getting a job in a MNC so of course STEM degrees would be more valued. Fine arts programs can be notoriously difficult to get into. They are no less worthy than a science degree.

What value would a B.Tech degree or Microbiology or something be to someone like Aryan? Real education is much more than computer skills or something. Come on.

Btw, he would not need Daddy's money to get into UCLA. It's not that hard to get into anyway plus they would be jumping for joy to get someone with a background like Aryan - father a huge celebrity, studied in UK in prominent school, raised in India and will be very unusual compared to the rest of the UCLA class. These things matter a lot. They want their student body to very diverse.

Shah seems to be an extremely indulgent father & with all the rumours of Aryan's drug usage + super-rich lifestyle, bound to happen. I did read an IV with Gauri where she said she doesn't want her kids to grow up with all luxury so she insists that they travel economy but Shah's heart melts. :) I agree it's so wrong, but since he encr grew up with menu let alone luxury, I can see why he would today want to spoil his children with every damn thing under ten sun!!! Today he's very rich so W*F not!!!

But drug usage, to be a brat, NOPE. Most BW star kids are super-brats & Aryan seems to be leading the pack!!!! Just makes you appreciate the likes of B Jr, or even Vidya, DP or Ash, just that much more.

Even Veer who was born with much wealth & hung about with the very rich crowd is relatively so much more polite, caring & very down to earth & I believe, he has always been this way but he is a rare case. All my rich friends/friends are super brats & overbearing to be around!!!

A self-made rich man has more chances to be normal but not their children. Achievement vs Birth.

I agree, though I don't think it's bad in him indulging them but yes drugs and being bratty that is very wrong. Not at all acceptable.

I've seen kids from rich families, access to most things but they never partied, did drugs or anything. Given things without them even asking for it but they appreciate it, they have worked hard in school and university all on merit. But of course at times told a no for certain things just so they would learn and not assume they can get everything.

I don't think it's bad, they probably just go to those stores and it's easier to get clothes for kids from there. And even if it's a choice there is nothing wrong. Who is to say he doesn't wear anything from gap?

Mallika, I meant to say that these super rich kids have it so easy to enter into these top schools to graduate from. They really dont slog their way like other children do. They get away with mediocre grades. Forget high flying 85% or more. Getting 55% may be best score they get. Infact even kids of business mughals dont study they have a pretty fun life and get into best colleges in USA- Harvard or Princeton or Yale and so on. Sad but true. Mercifully they cant become doctors or scientists because of money power.
Yes AbRam is damn cute and adorable child. I wish he studies real hard.

Anon39: Totally agreed!!!! But I was just staying what I had heard. But yes, I completely agree!!! It also makes my blood boil when people think doing Maths/Science is somehow "smart" but doing an Arts degree, must mean you just weren't smart enough to get into a Science/Maths course which is BULL of a GOLD STANDARD!

It's most off putting & terribly annoying but this is TYPICAL institutionalised Indian thinking. I also always have been of the opinion that academics can never be a yardstick for Intelligence or Ambition in any case unless you're a certified genius. But Education is essentially a platform to *achieve* your true dreams & ambitions & hence, most important yes, but not ambition per se. For lack of a better word, it isn't a fully realised ambition. Real ambition begins once you hit the real world otherwise where would we have the Ambanis, Bill Gates & Steve Jobs of the world. :)
