Will they glorify Sarabjit?

The hype of this movie got to me and I looked up a lot of information about Sarabjit Singh from all sources across the net. Overall things are very compelling and I did saw a bunch of red flags. Regardless of whose side you are on I generally will never support any terrorist who spills innocent blood. Hence if I'm personally not too sure what really happened and I do know both countries do engage in such activities with their intelligence agencies Im taking everything with a grain of salt. This is my exact problem when they showed Dawood in D-day as some misunderstood guy.

It's from the perspective of his sister, so yes he will be shown as innocent. There is no evidence to suggest he is a terrorist. He was framed after someone called Manjit Singh and that's obviously not who he is. Anyway, terrorist or not, he deserved a fair trial which he didn't get - instead he was murdered in jail. Even a proven terrorist like Kasab was treated well in India, so why was Sarbjit, who was not even proven a terrorist, be given such a torturous treatment for 23 years, only to be murdered later?

I read a lot. Like a lot. From all sources. In fairness I would also like to leave a disclaimer at start that I'm an Indian. But I read his fir and his charges and a lot of things. I mean both countries openly admit to such operations. Sanaullah a Pakistani prisoner languishing in Indian jail was also beaten and murderered same day. I would still be on the fence if they decide to make a movie about Sanaullah and glorify him.

It's not about India or Pakistan as both countries have shed a lot of blood over terrorism and continue to deal with it. Sometimes both have also engaged in disrupting and destabilizing each other. This is how I see it and I know that everything is possible. When it comes to innocents I can never support anything else. Although I'm patriotic I would not be a blind patriot and support any loss of blood. These two countries have played this game for so long. Still do. Maybe he is innocent. Maybe he is not. Depends on what you believe, what you read and who you ask. But I just don't feel its fair for anyone to be glorified if things are complicated.

There are many more to it
I can say some things which can hurt some members and I am not saying
But since you ask it is not first time innocent is dragged
Why they are dragged ? I should not get into that debate here
This video is about another person but this is what happens

What happened to Sanaullah, if what you said is true, is also unjust and unacceptable. It's not about nationality for me anymore.. both Sarbjit and Sanaullah are human beings first and I see them that way. If they were guilty of any crime, there are laws, courts, trials etc.. and there is a process to be followed and they should be. Just murdering them or even assaulting them before the judgment is delivered is highly reprehensible, whether it happens in India or Pakistan or elsewhere.

Any biopic should be taken with a grain of salt. Despite all attempts at objectivism it only portrays one perspective of the story.
Whether he was a spy or not is something we may never know. There will be two perspectives on it. However, as Ponymo said - the key issue is "fair trial". A fair trial is the hallmark of democracy. Even terrorists are guaranteed fair trials.

Bridge of Spies was a really good movie that dealt with fair trials and spies.

That being said Indian films do have a tendency towards jingoism. I hope they don't.
