Sridevi - English Vinglish. Hands down, my favourite female performance of 2012. It was a tough year, probably the toughest in YEARS. You had a Vidya for Kahaani, a Kareena for Heroine, a Priyanka for Bari and a Deepika for Cocktail. They were all excellent but Sridevi won me over. If not her, then PC deserved the award.

Kareena - Talaash, again 2012. She was flawless in that movie. I wish she was competing for Best Supporting Actress. She needed to sweep all the awards like PC did for Bajirao Mastani.

Kangana - Tanu Weds Manu Returns. Watched this again a while ago and oh boy did Kangana nail it as Tanu and Datto. Deepika's act in Piku was perfect but last year belonged to Kangana, If not her, I felt Anushka in NH10 deserved more recognition too.

Kareena - Kurbaan. Handsdown, those best actress awards were hers for the year 2009. A shame that the movie flopped. Kareena's performance in the climax scene alone deserved accolades.

KKK is underrated .she was absolutely amazing in kurbaan and talash

The most messed up thing ever was that Priyanka didn't get a nomination anywhere for What's Your Rashee? She was brilliant in all 12 roles but no one recognized it! Not even a nomination!!! So robbed!

The best two female performances in the last decade are Rani for Mardaani and Sri Devi for English Vinglish. They should have been the most celebrated ones!

Sonakshi and Priyanka are two that are huge examples of actresses that lost out. Sonakshi had to lose, simply because it would be damn embarassing to everybody for Deepika to lose to Sona despite having 3 nominations, and PC lost with Barfi simply because Vidya Balan was the award favorite during that time.

Anushka for NH10 also seems like one. I'd like to think of it this way, if either DP or Kangana did that role in NH10, I bet you without a doubt not only would they have ranked more highly, but they'd also most likely win.
