Khoobsurat was a more of a flowerpot role, a stepping stone into Bollywood, if you will. It didn't really require much in the way of acting.

Kapoor and Sons is his second film and, judging by the trailer, gives him a meatier role to work with. I would think it would only be fair to cast judgement AFTER seeing the movie, about whether he can act or not.

I never said he cant act. I am Saying so far he has not done any great role or shown any great talent. His entry into Bollywood has been mediocre. Media should not hype him unless there is something to hype.

Sure he has been in pakistani drama but that ain't Bollywood and there are people who have not seen that because they are not interested in soap operas and that genre.

If they are doing this to just cash in on his soap opera fandom that alienates a lot of other people who honestly do not find him extraordinary. He is a soap star.

In khoobsurat also, he made his presence felt,not for his fangirls. Most critics mentioned his presence and acting abilities as significant one, he did not get any out and out negative review from the reviewers. And they categorically mentioned about his skills.ow please do not say that a flowerpot role does have any opportunity to show your presence felt. Atleast the junta and the critics did not feel so because many actor do not get a mere mention at times despite being very well known.

Is the main post based on the fact that Fawad has fangirls , thus he is overrated. Then I will just say -carry on with your set of opinions, hope he is able to prove himself to change that some day.

@Bold - agree. That is a universal truth applicable to everyone. As we have seen with recent movies, content is the king!

As far as the choice of films, none other than Fawad himself can decide what scripts he wants to work on...

Kapoor and Sons is important for his career in BW..

Sadly you're suggesting that what qualifies in Bollywood, onehave to show the acting chops from the very first film. But if it is about acting, where the talent lies, then he has proven time and again that he can act. If you have not seen his work unfortunately you don't qualify to speak against his ability to perform. If someone suggested his first film in Bollywood was a stepping stone. It wasn't the best work but he managed just fine. People who have seen his work can attest that he is very talented. To you he may be overrated in the departments of looks and the over hype from his dramas but that should not reduce the talent that he truly possesses. He has a really unique way of showcasing his ability as an artist. It's refreshing to see after such a long time that someone can challenge other actors around him. I'm already predicting that this film will do wonders not only for him but for the second lead actor SID. He will push SID out of his comfort zone and make him act. Let's just wait and watch shall we

I am not someone that considers a good movie one that does well at the box office.

Karan has cast them because they are well known with media hype and established fan bases.
