Dilwale Review/Box Office Thread 2 - Keep Calm,Watch Dilwale - Page 45

20+ is really good for day 1.
If both movies are good, it's a loss they clashed...otherwise within 3 days, we will see one sustaining and othergoing down...

My Dilwale review:

I watched this movie for three reasons: Kajol, SRK/Kajol and Varun. As a fan unfortunately I am not satisfied with the the first two, but was happy with Varun's performance. Varun is the biggest plus point of this movie.

The biggest problem with this film is the script. No I was not expecting anything out of this world, novel or pathbreaking from a RS movie. But at least expected him to have an half decent script for the actors he managed to get for this film. Unfortunately he fails big time in this one.

I would describe the storyline as unrealistic, monotonous and borderline childish at times. For example the reason for SRK/Kajol misunderstanding was so effin silly. Seriously Rohit you really want us to believe that crap? And equally stupid was the reason on how the issue is eventually resolved!!! Like W*F!!! There were many other illogical and absurd moments.

Having said that, I must say all the actors, be it the leads and supporting cast do everything they can with the material given to them. Subsequently there are some entertaining moments .

Positives

- The 'twist' relating to Kajol and the way Kajol acts in that part. She was brilliant. I LOVED it and I wish it lasted longer. The changes in her character were too quick!!! Anyways the swagger in which she acts in that scene was top notch. It's a real shame Rohit criminally wasted Kajol. If he had given her a half decent material she would have created magic!!

- When Kajol expresses her love to SRK. All the bits leading up to the scene are so effing cheesy but still Kajol manages to make the final moments of the scene memorable! Her puppy dog eyes to SRK and how she tells him that he can teach her on anything she doesn't know, was so adorable! Nobody expresses love onscreen quite like Kajol.

- When SRK/Kajol meet 15 years later. Their eyes spoke volumes and Kajol's dialogue exchange with SRK was great. I LOVE angry and feisty Kajol the most.

- Varun Dhawan- he was really charming, adorable and funny. All his scenes were super entertaining. Personally felt he got the best part and he ably delivered. In every scene he was in he nailed it. I liked him the most. Really looking forward to his future ventures.

- All of Varun's scenes with the supporting cast- super entertaining!

- The SRK and Kajol moments in Bulgaria. At times cheesy but still they manage to engage you. A real credit to the actors.

- The scene where the two guys from SRK's gang are talking about SRK/Kajol past was hilarious. The use of the old films was really funny!!! And the subsequent scene with SRK and Varun was good too.

- The music. I loved Gerua and Janam Janam the most.

-The last scene was really cute. But it was all due to SRK/Kajol charm and the DDLJ nostalgia.

- Finally I LOVED how Kajol's character was shown. In that even though she was in love with SRK, she wouldn't hesitate the slightest to kill him! A rarity for a Female lead.

Negatives-

- Poor script. Despite the above moments you can't look beyond the effed up storyline.

- The storyline and characters made no sense. Everything appeared to be rushed.

- SRK/Kajol are criminally wasted in this movie. They really deserved better than this and so did their fans!

- Lack of Varun and Kajol scenes. After the promotions was really looking forward to their scenes, but they hardly had any!

Naturally when SRK and Kajol collaborate the expectations are really high. But I had kept my expectations really low and still managed to be disappointed. This was a big opportunity for Rohit and he messed up.

First MNIK and now Dilwale, both these movies do not do any justice to SRK/Kajol the pair or to them individually. It's a credit to them that they managed to somehow save this film completely destroying their onscreen legacy!

Seems like wom is not good , and many SRK fans are not liking the movie ,
Haven't watched it and will wait for dvd to watch it

WOM is excellent. WOM is Better than CE.

22 cr on 2800 screens is excellent!!! Not too far behind pk that was a solo release, right? Bakeangi dis 27 cr on 4200 screen and no clash, again if I am not wrong. Putting these numbers in perspective, DW has nailed it big time!

Ignore, its just one of them hating BM trolls. As if we care whether they watch the movie or not. They WISH the WOM wasn't positive. It is because people like them i would be IMMENSELY happy when and if BM crashes on Monday.

watched it .fun timepass movie.nothing memorable still worth watching

As per BOI, collections are equivalent to 30 cr if you take clash out of the equation. 30 cr on a working day is higher than BB and PK.
