BigB faces flak over 'son' remark

HOSHIARPUR: Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan's recent statement that his son should produce a male child drew flak from an NGO which said such remarks would encourage gender discrimination and female foeticide.

Savera, a society for social awareness, said the statement would only add to the problem of already skewed sex ratio in the country.

On Sunday, Bachchan said in Varanasi that he wanted his son Abhishek to marry soon and father a son.

"If Bachchan had given this statement unwittingly, then he should immediately withdraw it. If it had been made intentionally, then the state must act against him for promoting the birth of male children,"Avnish Ohri, president of Savera, said.

i think he probably just said it, without thinking about it...

well, if he did say that on purpose, then he shouldn't..becuase he even has a daughter, Sweta.

There is an old adage that says, Words are like Eggs. Words once spoken and Eggs once broken can never be put back together again.

I think Big B is up the proverbial creek without a paddle with this one, and he might be well served by either publicly apologizing or simply keeping quiet and riding out this storm. Any explanations he or his spokes persons give are all going to amount to mere water under the bridge. Silence here will be golden.

I think he might have said it by accident but if it was intentional he shouldnt have said that

Big B doesn't care abt such things...he loves Shweta sooo much...I think he just said it like that...u know...son or daughter,...he juss meant a kid...I dun think he was discriminating against any gender...😳 But yeah..he must have thought before he speaks coz he is such a national figure...anyway..I hope this is sorted out...cant see Big B in trouble😳😭
