Actually writer could have used better words and tone in response. This response is bit disrespectful and is also written with prejudiced and biased notion itself. Why does she has to be a Muslim to criticise whats happening in the country.. Cant she criticise being a hindu herself.. And whether she is a hindu or Muslim .. Its her personal choice.. Who is this author to decide for her. Having said that I do agree that incidents like dadri have been politicised and used extensively for polarisation in the country which is also wrong. It is okay to express hurt and disappointment. Even Farhan Aktar did that in very sensible post after incident. But targetting a community on basis of that again and again is also not right... It was a criminal act and unfortunate act -just dont link it with religion at all. Criminals responsible are behind the bars. We expect quick and apt judgement thats it. Why igniting people's feelings like Oh We are going towards hell..n all... Such incidents have happened in the past ..Sadly our media highlights more of negative..but we do have positives too.. There are stories of Muslims playing part in Ramleela plays , one temple where muslims provide cotton for diyas free of cost... Then hindu women helped one muslim woman giving birth to boy in hindu temple. Sadly such positive news are not given that much attention by media.. We are better than many other nations...

but Saif changed now he admitted to it himself. lets not pretend as if Saif and his siblings grew up with Hindu influence. they did not celebrate Hindu festivals amd such while growing. It's sick that's Sharmila's entire message for tolerance gets lost just because she married a Muslim man. Suddenly she's being attached for her religious preference, whether whe converted or not.

Point is, just coz one tragedy is being discussed, why is it always necessary to being in past tragedies to current?
I've seen idiotic people both in India and Pakistan do the same.
Some hate tragedy strikes the U.S., some Muslims are all "well what about all those people that died in Afghanistan?"

Some hate crime strikes a Muslim, it's suddenly well "Hindus die too!l

W*F does it matter? It's tragic no matter who dies. Anyone murdered in cold blood is tragic, so condemn it!

The reason this issue is being brought out is that in light of recent escalating extremist views in some groups in India, it is a violent manifestation of what people can do.

There's also the angle of a minority's and power dynamics in play. Concern lies with the group that's already at a a slight disadvantage by numbers.
It's similar to the "Black Lives Matter" slogan in the states lately. African Americans being a minority are disadvantaged by power dynamics so if an AA is killed by a cuacasian it is a cuase of as opposed to an AA killing whites.
