Don't know about sharmila and not interested in it . But unfortunately nowadays its a general trend as soon as you question government, RSS or modi then 2 things happen :

If you are muslim then you are called deshdrohi, go to pakistan , gets compared to treatment in arab countries etc etc and other offensive words .

If you are hindu then you are termed as Sickular , deshdrohi, cangressi chamcha etc etc .

Heart-breaking and Sad state of affairs and media is playing a big role in dividing and alienating people by highlighting small , individual incidents and not letting go for days .

I was reading something on FB and the so called bhakts ( which is again offensive but not as offensive as deshdrohi) were abusing Gulzar ( BW lyricist ) and asking him to leave country and go to pakistan as his name is similar to muslim name , as soon as they googled probably and realized his real name is Sampooran singh kalra abuses were changed to sickular, cangressi chamcha etc etc 😕

It's difficult to talk about religion in India but I have to say I do agree with the writer of the article in one thing.

I think it was misleading of Sharmila to not state her own religion honestly while showing her outrage about the murder of the Muslim man in Dadri. I think when you want to talk about certain topics, honest disclosure is required in order to have a mature discussion of the issue.

Her using her screen name of Sharmila for the article (which is not her real name anymore) makes it seem like the criticism is coming from a certain other place when it's more complicated than that. I think more people will be willing to listen if you are more up front yourself about where you really stand.
