mastani is other woman for bajirao where he fell for her beauty!! but deepika in this role doesnt fit as she has no perfect figure ! period

Exactlyyy!! Deepika looks too model-like in the song. I mean she looks breathtakingly beautiful - but other than that...blank lol...She looks like a hanger.

PC did outshine her in the 10 seconds they showed her - she emotes so much better. I guarantee you PC is going to steal the show just like Anushka stole the show in JTHJ!

I have to say yeah it looks like it. She's lacking the poise and grace big time and she looked out of place and somewhat wooden in the Deewani Mastani song. I know Aish isn't the greatest actress, but she totally should've done this role.

I can see why SLB went for Deepika.Not many choices apart from Deepika in this generation,who can carry off Mastan's role...Definitely not Sonam...Are u kidding me?...After the horrible dancing and adaah shown in PRDP,people want her to be Mastani😕..And Its not like her dialogue delivery is any better..Anushka is out of contention as she doeant have that classic beauty ..Sonakshi probably..As she has the old world charm,great emoting,pure Indian face and features/...But she lacks the dancing skills and grace...her huge frame might not fit Bhansali's imagery of Mastani..Deepika was splendid in the teaser..especially her expressions in the sword fight scenes..She looked so fierce and passionate..She did look breathtaking in Mastani song though her overall presence was dull..But I've a feeling she and Priyanaka,both will be brilliant in the actual movie.

I think Aishwarya would have suited the role the best. Why don't we have actresses these days who can do traditional roles with classical dancing? Sonam has that classic Indian look, but it's a shame that she lacks talent in both acting and dancing. People are saying Anushka doesn't have the look needed for this film, but I think she might have done well. She has good chemistry with Ranveer, and she's also a talented actress. I think people are still focused on her bad lip surgery. Sonakshi suits the role too, but I don't think audiences would be that interested in seeing her. She doesn't have that box office pull. Katrina - she is the closest to resembling the real Mastani, but other than that...casting her would have been an epic fail. I can also picture Kareena doing well in the acting part, but I never ever want to see her dance...ever. One of the reasons Deepika was chosen is because she has a larger fan following and people would be interested in seeing her more. Even though she doesn't have that classic look, she might still do a decent job. She is a good actress with average dancing skills. This is her opportunity to stretch her boundaries and do something different. Let's see how well she does.

😆 The only reasons why SLB casted her as Mastani is because Ram Leela was a hit & we all know Diplas PR wiill do ANYTHING to make sure BM is a hit.

1st reason is, she can VAGUELY look like Aishwarya Rai with a LOT of efforts. A big reason why he casted her in Ram Leela in the first place. So SLB is getting the Mastani he had in his head even if it is a diluted version. Just look how Gori Dipla looks in all songs & teasers!

Yep, Id said that, even when the teaser released..she doesnt fit the bill for me atleast..and with the deewani mastani song, she looks far away from being Mastani..call me crazy, but I found PC prettier there..and DP is looking more and more plastic (whats with the overdose Bleaching? she looks Nirma white now😕) and her acting is seeing a downswing and looks more artificial with every passing day..she was far more beautiful during Ram Leela songs, even though she dint really act even in that movie..

still excited for BM though, for Ranveer and PC..
