Okay, praising Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 outrightly would be entering very dangerous territory. But not connecting with it as a guy is equally tough! Especially after the high standards set by its first installment,Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 had to be bigger (read exaggerated), better (read budget) and crazier (read reactions).

The latest tongue-in-cheek comedy has a surprising box-office performance!

Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 unapologetically unsymathetic towards women! But that hasn't stopped it from setting the cash registers ringing at the box office. The film offers typical stereotyping of women as girlfriends, without as much as a chance of redepmtion just like its prequel.

Following the original premise, the film leans heavily in favour of men, while mercilessly taking digs at women! Even though the gender bias in this one is obvious, movie-goers and the first day earnings seem to suggest that the audience actually enjoy watching movies which are an antitheses of prescribed romantic formula! On its second day at the box office, the film has earned a good 7. 60 cr!

Friday saw a massive opening with a huge 6.80 cr coming its way making everyone happy. Saturday saw a good jump to 7.60 cr which took the total to 14.40 crore, reported an article in bollywoodlife.com. Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh revealed the figures on Twitter saying:

Another report in dnaindia.com said that the film has beaten the opening day collections of films like Jazbaa and Katti Batti.

Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 box office collection: The Kartik Aaryan-Nushrat Bharucha starrer earns Rs 27.10 crore in four days!

The film continues its magical run at the box office...

Kartik Aaryan and Nushrat Bharucha-starrer Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 opened very well on Friday and has sustained even on Monday when most films tank. Even the trade experts didn't expect such the film to have such a phenomenal run, but Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 is proving everyone wrong as it continues to hold its audience at the multiplexes and single screens. The film added another Rs 4.35 crore on Monday, to take its overall tally at the box office to Rs 27.10 crore at the end of four days.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh also mentioned that the film is doing excellent when he tweeted, "#PyaarKaPunchnama2 Fri 6.80 cr, Sat 7.60 cr, Sun 8.35 cr, Mon 4.35 cr. Total: Rs. 27.10 cr. India biz. EXCELLENT!"

The film, which features three modern day couples (Kartik Aaryan-Nushrat Bharucha, Sunny Singh-Sonalli Sehgal and Omkar Kapoor-Ishita Sharma), shows the everyday dilemma of love.Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 was tagged as a "women bashing" film, however we hear that women are also enjoying the movie and taking everything in their stride as the entertainment element rolls on. The film received decent reviews and though the film is very similar to the first part, people are still loving it.

The multiplexes and single-screen cinemas are still maintaining a good occupancy and we expect the film to have a good first week. It may collect around Rs 35-40 crore by the end of the first week, but with Shaandaar releasing on Thursday, Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 may start to fade away.

Pyaar Ka Punchnama continued its good run on Tuesday dropping around 15% from the previous day . The business of Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 over the first five days is as follows.

Friday - 5,75,00,000

Saturday - 7,00,00,000

Sunday - 7,75,00,000

Monday - 4,00,00,000

Tuesday - 3,50,00,000

TOTAL - 28,00,00,000

The first week business will probably be in the 33-34 crore nett range depending on what happens on Thursday.

Finally watched pkp2 guys!! Its awesome!! Well directed with lots of punches!! Good show!! Glad that its a hit, I heard about pkp 1 way after it was released, at least this movie is getting its due credit!! :)
