What unrelatistic ?

3 Idiots collected 300 crores...if average ticket is 50 rupees...6 crore people saw it..which is 6% of population in theatre?

Potential of untapped market in india is huge !

6% movie goer out of 100 crore looks possible but the fact is India's population was 87 crore in 1990 and 100 crore in 2000 yet movie struggled to cross 20 crore mark in the lifetime earning which was in 30-40 days... aur achanak se 100 crore mark becomes cake walk that too in 3 -5 day 😆 kuch toh garbar hai... kuch toh garbar hai 😆

1. Because the middle class has increased...which increases the movie going population...number of theaters have increased which again increases the movie going population...ticket rates have increased which increases the money per ticket...

it is a function of movie going population...not the population of the country !

Middle class increased... 25 % ? Or is it 100% ? To accomodate middle movie goer, they increased theatre size lets say 100%... yet if a movie in the past made 20 crore over 30days or 100 day, how is 100 crore achievable in 3 - 5day as this analyst claims it

Seems u really wanna understand BO Business of today's films. Now Films get business from 2 sources - Multiplex & Single Screen.

If a film is 105 Cr lifetime business, it will have 60-70 Cr from Multiplex & 30-35 Cr from Single Screen depending upon the audience choice (Like Salman, Akki, Ajay have huge mass appeal so their films Single Screen income is more).

In this way, in just 3 days 100 cr is achieved. Also A Big film, like PK, BB, Dhoom 3, they all released on Maximum Plexes / Single Screens. So in a day it comes from 25 -40 cr depending on working day or holiday.
