if Salman admitted to the crime that happened in 2002.

He would have served his time by now and be free.

he could have even worked towards a 'good behavior bond' and be released early.

Not very long after he made that statement that he was going to marry Aishwarya rumors started that Ash had broken up with him. But he publicly clung on to "I'm dating Aishwarya" routine for months until Aishwarya showed up as VIP at Jalsa for Abhishek's birthday. Basically when it became obvious that something was going on between Abhi/Ash. Then his story changed and suddenly it was Aishwarya who made him do the press conference, and he started apologizing to Salman. This was also around the time that Salman got arrested and his Mom was hospitalized, so he went to the hospital to visit Salma Khan with the whole freaking media outside to document it. That's why a few pages ago I called him an opportunistic weasel. I think him even showing up at Abhishek's grandmother's funeral was a PR move for himself.

That's why I always think that was his "gesture" to her and it backfired. She's the last person that put her family through all. She only spoke about once maybe twice--the media was mean so she shunned them all and never gave out personal details. Till now with Aara.

But Vivek from the beginning was SO vocal.

Ameesha Patel had commented at one point that Abhishek was a great guy and if she were Karishma she would have never let him go. Though I suspect she made that comment more tongue and cheek 😆. But Esha Deol also said her Mom would be very happy if she settled down with someone like Abhishek Bachchan. Even Kareena once said that what had happened between Abhi/Lolo was unfortunate but he was a great guy and any girl would be lucky to have him.

Yes she's extremely lucky to have him. Anyone would be. He's absolutely awesome & everything Ash would want.

Unrequited love can ruin forever ...whatever happened to the Vivek we saw in D Company and Saathiya?

He could never recover to fulfil the early promise of a great career.

@Het & IALB: I don't really know. People say different things based on who they're close to. I suspect it's both, she manipulated him & he gave he details which made her move herself away from him. Many people suspect that's the reason why she did it too, so she could come out better for the wear. I think it's both. It was also an act of machismo on Viveks side which totally backfired. Then he begun working his PR but he did get played by Ash like she played Salman. Het, the Lady Macbeth image when it comes to her manipulations, isn't too far off. 😆

At the end of the day Vivek goes to home with a loving wife and kids and sleeps peacefully... But Salman, well what to say! I dnt think he has the conscience to worry about others...Apna kaam banta bhaad mein jaye janta

what salman is going through is terrible. fame , money or anything can't compensate for mentalpeace.

about vivek n aish, i have heard wide versions of made up stories all these years...as no one knows what actually happened, people are free to make their own version of the story. the story of manipulation of vivek is utter crap. he was no kid to get manipulated. he was not brainless to follow everything. i remember his interviews in karan's show. he was jumping to announce about aish. later when his move got backfired, suddenly he started behaving as if he was innocent . even he started apologising to salman. In my opinion his behaviour clearly shows he is not man enough. he is not sure about what he does n what he says. i will give aish the benefit of doubt. though i don't like her giggling all time, but comparing to other bolly actresses i find her dignifed. in terms of character she is nice and i'm sure about it.

Salman undoubtedly is the bigger star but I would still choose to lead Vivek's life. He sleeps peacefully at night and has a clear conscience unlike Salman who has to live with remorse.
