I absolutely don't get the hype around her performance in the movie, and the hype around the movie itself but if I have to choose between the movie and her performance, the movie deserves to be hyped way more than her acting in it

and then what happens- Aditya finds Geet all miserable and bitter. There was literally no transition for me to see as a viewer. She goes from one set of emotions to a contrasting other set. Sure, she does both bits well, but I didn't see a development, nor change

Of course, Kareena isn't a shit actress, so she defo did have moment of genius in Jab We Met. But I don't think its a pathbreaking role for her

I found her oodles more impressive in Talaash (I think I remember going on about how mesmerizing her underwater scene was).

Now that I think about it, I think there was a lot more visible development in Shahid Kapoor's character in Jab We Met.

Also, not saying Kangna whole-heartedly deserved the NA either. But if comparisons need to be made, I thought Kangna was more impressive in this genre/character-type

Honestly, both are equally good performances. Both actresses had to showcase the joys with the lows of life. Kareena had a more challenging role in terms of being the chatterbox and not going overboard.

And Kareena was NOT playing herself in JWM. Their body language is different. Kareena has a natural drawl to the way she talks. She talks slow, extends most words. I'm sure most have seen her giving an extended "yaaarrr" in her interviews.

And even her body language is very lax, relaxed, kinda dorky, slow.

Geet was hyperactive, she talked incredibly fast, she was all over the place. How is that easy? How is that playing oneself? I would say Geet is one of the few performances where Kareena actually completely lost herself in character. I guess the similar is the "larger than life" persona, but that can be defined in many ways. And maybe the excessive use of gestures 😆

Yeah, the zest was Kareena, but justifying a great performance by saying, "well that's what she's like in real life so how hard can it be" is a bit unfair.

It's like people saying Priyanka a model in real life, how hard could her performance in Fashion have been

Kareena deserved NA for JWM , I still don't get it why she couldn't get it 😕

Maybe because Kareena sucked in JWM? She was so OTT in the first half and so dull and bland in the second half 🥱

It wasn't in JWM's script to show Geet's journey. For shock factor, and to feel Aditya's pain, one had to see the extremes of Geet and what she had become.

Despite not having the transition, Geet still had so many nuances. The disadvantage? JWM wasn't female centric. It wasn't shown through Geet's perspective, nor was Geet in most of the footage.

This is like saying no actress will ever shine out in a movie, just cuz there's another character sharing screentime. Kareena blew Aamir and Rani, 2 fairly powerhouse actors, out of the water in Talaash. So it's not like it's impossible.

So when will Kareena have her opportunity? She's tried her hand at sole role characters like Heroine.

IMO, I think Kangna put a lot more heart into the role

Kangana was very good in Queen. Kareena was better. Unlucky. Hope Kareena gets another good role to prove herself.

Truth is, people love it when girl's act bubbly and giggly. I'm sorry to say it, but it's true 😆

If we're gonna talk about people getting robbed, people like Konkona Sen Sharma get robbed like every single year of their life then.

Kareena didn't deserve jack for JWM, aside from a good ol pat on the back.

Kangna's character transition from a girl with full dependence on someone else, then her hesitation into changing into an independent woman, was extremely visible and remarkable.

That said, I HATEZ her dialog delivery, and no idea why, she played dumb very often in Queen when I'm not sure if her script required to do so.
