@ first bold: I'm sure you are right. Except the first time he spoke about it he used the word violent and he claimed that he hadn't seen it but Karan and Arjun told him about it. Personally I find it hard to believe that out of the whole show Karan and Arjun told him the parts that involved Farida Jalal, Reema Lago and Arpita Khan. As for him watching the show after the backlash to educate himself, all of Arpita's parts were edited out. To me it sounds like he was told about the Arpita parts form another source and took a personal issue with it. Not saying he cannot. Just that I'm not buying his explanation for how his reaction came about.
@ second bold: I didn't know that Arjun knew about all the jokes against Arpita in advance. I didn't know any of them knew of the full script. But if they did or if Arjun did then you are right, he does know Salman and his family well enough and should have known someone was going to react badly to those jokes. Or maybe he did warn them and they just didn't listen to him.
I'm sure too that it wasn't Karan or Arjun who told him about those particular things because he mentioned none of those names the first time he talked about the issue. He might have watched the show or not (we can't tell from this interview), but what I meant by him informing himself on the issue is that he surely read up about it and/or discussed it with other people to get details on the uncensored content as well as the consent/rating issues associated with it because he was apparently speaking from an uninformed perspective about them at that time, which seems not to be the case anymore. The gist of his reaction before and now remains the same - that the idea of targeting real individuals doesn't seem to sit right with him. Only difference is that now we can say he's equipped himself with more evidence (names to give as examples) to justify his view.
About Arjun...I'm under the impression from whatever I've seen of this issue that they practiced the script beforehand and everyone involved was in on the jokes for the most part (if I recall correctly, AIB revealed in one of their chats that Ranveer knew about the jokes they were going to make on the ladies associated with him already & whether he shared the material with concerned parties or not was on him)...Pretty sure that Salman would never have approved of going ahead with the material on his sister had he known beforehand...so that just leaves me to believe that Arjun was thick enough (pun unintended) to think that nothing wrong would come out of it. Forget the moralistic implications (which are a bigger problem)...but selfishly, I wouldn't do anything like it simply to avoid pissing my mentor/senior actor off, especially when some people's place in Bollywood would be at risk by doing such stuff.

On the use of the word violent, which has been much debated on due to Aamir's reaction on this issue: I happened to see some interesting and rather relevant captioning in this campaign (Backbone Zone:
http://www.mecasa.org/backbone/index.html) against sexual assault that's being run in Maine (USA)...adds some perspective...
