Who is Wisin? Last I read Enrique & Anna had broken up? Well... They are called beards for a reason... 😆 Am the one who said I feel he's gay & I didn't mean he is, I said I feel he is.

I think the entertainment industry itself is OK with homosexuality. Within inner circles a lot more celebrities are out. The lack of coming out is most likely due to the fans. Fans get rabidly obsessed with celebrities and their relationships. Movies are promoted based on chemistries and relationships. It is the fans who are not receptive to stars being gay. They want to be able to ship them in heterosexual pairs. They also want to lust after them. So many female fans said they were heartbroken when Matt Bomer or Ricky Martin came out. so publicists and movie studios don't want stars to come out. They want to be able to generate that rabid fan following. They don't want fans second guessing about fantasizing about celebrities.

A lot of Twilight hype was around the Robert Pattison-Kristen Stewart chemistry/relationship. Had Kristen come out as lesbian, fans wouldn't have bought it as much. Fans would have wanted a star whom Robert could actually date and be with.

It is very similar to why married women were once considered dead to the industry. Once married she couldn't have the same chemistry or speculation around her male costars. It was OK for married men to have chemistry or rumored affairs, but it was just a no no for women. Married women still struggle to be viable celebrities. So it will be a long time before gay celebrities get accepted. But for more celebrities to come out gay, I think fans have to evolve.

Personally, I don't care. Sexual orientation of celebrities is irrelevant to me when I obsess as a fan or ship them. In an ideal world no one would have to come out. I think there are two reasons celebrities come out. One is to make a statement, to serve as role models or inspirations to young people who are struggling with their sexual orientation. The second is that they just get frustrated with the heteronormative world around them. It probably is very irritating for gay people to have people continuously be bombarded with social, personal, relationship concerns from a straight perspective. The gay man doesn't want to discuss which woman he would date or steal a kiss from, he doesn't want to give men tips on how to please a woman. He wants to be able to share whom he loves and what he does. So when the need for personal freedom outweighs the need for fame, celebrities come out.

Or like Jodie Foster they wait till they have had a full long career and are ready to move on. Btw, hers was the classiest coming out speech that gave a great f**k you to social perceptions.

^it's due to fans but that leads to studios taking the fan mentality into account. So it factors in to the decisions made up in the higher levels. Which leads to publicists, managers and agents cautioning against being open. Which leads to actors being cautious.

Yes. I agree to every word you, and Hadey wrote. It is all b/c of fans & fans are the craziest, scariest lot I've ever encountered. But many times agents etc instill such fear in the actors/actresses for their own manipulative reasons.

@Hadey: Count me in your club. I never ever bothered about Matt B being gay. He pinged my gaydar since the beginning & I loved him just the same. I honestly believe that he's one the nicest, loveliest, talented & beautiful actors. To give him credit, he never dodged Qs about his sexuality, he just never addressed them head -on & while Jodie Foster's was a lovely coming out speech, Matt's was THE classiest!!! 👏 ⭐️ It blew me away. So succinct, so loving & so brave. <3

Matt Bomer is a beautiful, beautiful man. I wish he had been cast as Superman. He could totally play the lead in a romance gay or straight with sexiness and ease.

I think Ezra Miller as The Flash is going to be the first openly gay/bi man being cast as a superhero. Not counting Magneto (although superhero or superviilain?)
