Couldn't finish MTH boring film with mediocre acting, if mediocrity is hailed as effortless and excellent then well ...

On topic lot of actors do well in drama & comedy esp the senior ones ...

Don't get me wrong the movie was garbage, but Varun was effortless in his role. You can tell he was comfortable in the role unlike Ranbir in Besharam or Shahid in PPNH!

I think SRK is good in dramatic and emotional scenes, and he was good in both these genre, but he didn't impressed me in comedy in his recent movie.

I found Ranbir really good in the comic scenes in the beginning of Barfi , I don't know if it was considered comic or it just me who found it comic. But still cannot I think there is more scope for him to prove his ability in comedy.

I think Deepika is good in both comedy and drama but she has long way to go before we can say that she "Excel" in both ..

Kirron Kher is really good in both genre IMO. I enjoy watching her in comic scene, and I think she do justice to the dramatic scenes.

SRK was just an example for an actor excelling in one kind of role - Villain/Anti-hero 😆 ..agree, but he's simply sooo good in villainy roles ❤️

But, like some here posted, I'd also say Kareena and Kajol.

Actually there are very few actors like that... an actor may be good at everything, but may not excel in both :) ..somehow, it's difficult to assess. One may 'like' an actor in all kinds of roles... he may be an all-rounder, but EXCELLING in both... is very rare to find, needs much observation. 😆

BTW, I seem to find TV actors mooore talented and 'into' their acting. You too mentioned a TV actor. So did I, I like Fawad.. seems most versatile to me.

Aamir to an extent .. other than AAA, loved him in DCH which had many comic scenes.

Aamir used to be very good at both. Now his face is so frozen it can't move. SRK had good comic timing depending on the scenes. He could never do the OTT comedy though. That's why he's unbearable in films like CE and in the Rohit Shetty world. Now he can't even do drama properly.

Saif has done very well in both.

Ranbir pulls off the Charlie Chaplin humor in films like Barfi well... he's good at drama too.

Riteish Deshmukh. Kajol was always excellent at both. Juhi is great at both also.

Bryan Cranston is an exceptional talent.

Bachchan, the Khans, Akshay, Ajay has done well in both genres , can't say about the newbies need to do more films to prove themselves. Ranbir does both reasonably well, still early days, lets see...

Sanjeev Kumar excelled in both, though liking an actor or a performance is subjective.
