Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! remains the biggest hit in the history of Indian cinema, a film which instilled a new lease of life in the ailing film industry by bringing viewers back to cinema halls.
It ran for over 25 weeks in 150 cinemas, for over 50 weeks in 52 cinemas and crossed the magical 100th week mark in 4 cinemas in India. The film won the National Award for being the most popular film providing wholesome entertainment and also bagged 5 Filmfare Awards and
6 Screen Awards, including awards for the Best Film, Best Actress and Best Director. This was the first Hindi film to run in mainscreen cinemas in U.S.A., U.K. and other parts of the world and creating records unheard of before. It ran for over 50 weeks in Bellevue Cinema, London and at Albion Cinema, Toronto - the first Hindi film to do so. This film takes the credit for reviving the theatrical release of Hindi films abroad.

Premalayam
Hum Aapke Hain Koun was a super hit in Telegu as Premalayam. It crossed the 25 week mark at 7 centres in Andhra Pradesh and ran for over 100 days at 14 centres.
Hum Aapke Hain Koun was also dubbed in Tamil as Ambaalayam and had a successful run.

Congratulations to Rajshri Prod and Sooraj Barjatya.👏
QSQT brought back romance but Barjatya made it huge with MPK (many of whose sequences are still copied, especially love confession through antakshri).

HAHK brought back families to theatres, set trend for opulent, feel good, family films, broke records, set new trends in marketing and release strategy, opened overseas market.

They don't have same magic now. But wish them best of luck for future. They did rewrite rules of Indian cinema. 👍🏼

Wah wah Soorajji, picture kya banayee!Rajshri aur parivaar ko badhai hobadhai #20YearsOfHAHK unforgettable memories

SB is so softspoken aww.I guess his inherent sweetness and simplicity is what translated to screen so beautifully..I wont call HAHK my most favourite BW movie but this one has moments which are just surreal and cant be recreated...the ones we dont get bored even on repeated watching...the ones which tug at ur heart, make u smile,weep,laugh...I have not watched this movie in a stretch since some time...I watch in parts but its still fun to savour its goodness like that...Prem's innocence and mischief,Nisha's dance moves and costumes,Tuffy <3...these things are unforgettable...have lot of memories attached to the first time I saw this movie...as this was the first movie I watched on big screen...cherish the whole experience❤️.. I go back and watch the songs online when I feel the pang of nostalgia at times...Then at times, when I miss my extended family, get togethers and celebrations with them,I love to watch the marriage and other festivities depicted in the movie with so much detailing, splendour and nobility ..The best part about HAHK is that, its one of those rare BW movie you can enjoy with ur whole family including ur dada and dadi a Sunday evening without any reservations...HAHK is all heart..so poignant and no superficiality attached...I love the way they have captured the essence of good old joint families and their pure bond of love and togetherness 😳
