I think him talking bout being an outsider comes from wat he has experienced in the industry. It seems from his interviews he was treated differently to how the star kids were.

I will take karan johars reaction to him as an example. Firstly karan didn't know who ranveer was, and Karan's reaction to him was not positive, he thought he wasn't 'good looking' enough to be in films. It was only after BBB released did karan actually start praising him. So I guess ranveer got similar reactions while trying to make it in bollywood.

Star kids like ranbir and Varun didn't get those reactions because karan and other industry people grew up with them.

Even today karan and other people treats him differently to how Arjun, Alia and others r treated.

So yeah ranveers grandmother was an actress, he does hav connections, but in the industry he is not considered a star kid.

We only get to know stuff through the media.

Ranveer and Deepika was having affair when he was dating Anushka, that's why Anushka got so irked and completely changed her behavior towards Deepika.

During 2012 and early 2013 you could see it all at events, interviews and even at award function, even in 2014 when Dp got asked about anushka she got irked and didn't want to comment.

If you think Ranveer is an innocent guy who has only dated Deepika then believe that but there is a lot of out there which shows otherwise.

I am not saying wat is true or what isnt, I am saying that it's really just speculation of how they broke up. We won't really know how they broke up unless they speak about it themselves.

And I don't just think has only dated deepika, I do believe he dated anushka aswell.

Now if u look at armaan Jain, that is wat u call a filmy kid, his whole family supporting him, many people in the industry backing his film.

In terms if being honest, no actor or actress in bollywood is honest becuase they hav to hide things bout thier personal life. I guess people find ranveer a bit mor honest that others, coz he is less diplomatic.

@Crystal there is no evidence to how ranveer and anushka broke up, they still won't say whether they even dated.

His statements- I will always be an outsider, I belong to a non filmi family (yes his parents arent into films but his grand mother was. He grew up with enough connections..and his family could have got him a place in films
His statements make the outsoder jaap sound absolute..not the relative way you are putting it as. And yes I have read his story and yet this is what I feel, that he is no outsoder he claims to be

I get that they have to hide about personal thing but not the lying bit..I merely raised a question because people seem to love him for being honest despite him hiding/lying..as if he is excused for this small lies whereas other as called out for them

Arey who is pakka honest in whole bollywood. Ranveer might be the least dishonest in the lot. He even said in recent interveiw that he has started being 10-15 % discreet these days .

besides Wikipedia can be edited by anyone..so not like he wanted it be known..it could be anyone adding it there

'Honesty' in Ranveer's case means that he is not pretentious. He does not apologise for who he is. He is flamboyant and does not hide it.

One must remember that this definition of 'honesty', is by bollywood standards only.
