Her last four films tanked. Sarkar Raj - Below Average, Raavan & Action Replayy - Flop, Guzaarish - Disaster.

There seems to be some hype in the media about her return though can't say the same about the projects. South stars backed out of her Mani Ratnam project. She's teaming up with Sanjay Gupta who has give 5 duds and an average grosser in his career. Also talks about another film with her hubby who's reduced to sidekick roles nowadays.

Do you think she can make a strong comeback against all the odds and regain some of her star power in 2000s? No actress has done it in their 40s apart from a hit film here or there. Can she change BW trend? Your thoughts.

What hype?? She might make an impact if her film is good & I don't see either the ManiRatnam or Sanjay Gupta movie being that movie. Which begs the question why did she choose these movies as her comeback one? I still can get the south movie but Sanjay Gupta? What was she thinking?! And it seems like she rejected some big name projects prior to these. Atleast her fans will get to see her again, nothing exciting otherwise.

She still gets the hype albeit not regarding movies. Her Cannes appearance got a lot of coverage in India and she gave a fair bit of interviews. If she signs a big project, there will be a lot of hype. Not to mention media's obsession with Aradhya.

I personally doubt she was offered HNY as DP said it was the first movie Farah offered to her even before OSO. Also Ashu movie is not the same anymore now that HR has been roped in. They could cast any current A lister they want.

Yes she can...but she will need a Khan's presence to have a strong one...see even Sri made a comeback...but while it was critically acclaimed it wasn't a strong comeback...as in a moneychurner...so to have a strong comeback she needs a 100 cr movie so that she can sustain her success...and for that she needs a Khan or Hritik...just my opinion...

She can make a strong come back. There is hype on her come back. Sanjay Gupta movie can be a hit but still she needs a Khan or Hrithik so she can get 100 cr plus movie and then she will continue to get offers. Right now she needs to be really careful with the choices she make.

My opinion on this - is that if you are NOT a Khan or a Hrithik, then your films will only do well if the movie itself is good! Hell even Hrithik cant make a bad film work (ex: Kites)

And if your films flop that doesn't mean that you are not popular and that the audience doesn't want to see you. Even though I hate her, I;ll use the example of Madhuri- with the amount of support I see for Madhuri Dixit her last 3 films would not have flopped...You can see the hysteria around her when she came to IIFA to perform and even how she is glorified on Jhalak. Even generally lots of people like her and WANT to see her.
Similarly, movies are working today because they are good. That's why English Vinglish, Queen, etc become hits. I doubt it has anything to do with Sridevi or Kangana herself.

to make a woman oriented movie work, two things are must.
A great script and a great acting.

I personally dont think Aish is strong enough of an actress to carry any movie but if it's made well..then you never know.Though a 100 crore is a far fetch, plus women centric movies shouldnt be held at same standard as any khan or hrithik movie, indian audiencei just started opening up to the women centric movies. We cant expect Madhuri, Sri , Juhi , Aish or any yesteryear actress to be given 100 or 200 crores movies. That kind of thing is rare even in hollywood movies then bolly has a long way to go.

Well personally I've never been a fan of Aishwarya's acting. More of her fan comes from her pageant title, her looks, her international fame, and now her family. She's had a few good films to her name, but that's it.

I've said this in many other threads and once again am just repeating myself. With the day and age now, none of the actresses from the 90s can make a huge impact anymore unless the script is extraordinary. Karisma failed. Madhuri failed. Rani failed. Kajol failed somewhat. Only Sridevi managed to outshine and perform well. Of course the fans will rush to theaters to see a new Aishwarya movie, but it's going to really all depend on the script and the male co-stars on how strong of a comeback it will really be.

This is the first time I am hearing good words about madhuri from you😆 On serious note you're not wrong, all actresses have their true fans standing by them, there is always hype when it comes to top actress's. Madhuri Kajol Aish karishma sridevi are legends and no one can change that fact. But still no matter how big of a legend you are but you need box office success. In order to get offers in future, you need to give a hits esp when you have been out of movies for some time.

Aish can give a hit but she needs a blockbuster to continue with movies. If she wants to make an official come back to movies, like if she wants to get in real game, if she wants to compete with deepika Kareena priyanka sonakshi katrina ect then she needs to work with big stars.

It depends on whom she is making her comeback...if the movie is women oriented then it would be another disaster...cos I have no hopes on her acting despite having good script...😛
