Madhuri just picked the wrong films. If she had come up with a good film then everything would've been fine. Like Sridevi came back with English Vinglish and it worked. Doesn't mean people would've made Aaja Nachle a hit if Sridevi were to be in it. The point is - this industry is big enough to give opportunities to every kind of actor, old or new, hit or flop. Boman would've been an actor regardless because Amitabh can't do every film.
Okay its your viewpoint so i won't argue but let me put my opinion as well.
Aja nachle was like a perfect fit for madhuri. A movie with dancing theme was perfect fro her return. She was known more for her dancing skills. Even the movie was promoted likewise. However, there was no buzz because people had moved on. She took 5 years gap which is like eternity in the industry.
Dedh ishqiya, everybody like the first part. So it had some advantage even before being released. I haven't seen the movie so cant comment but it was a flop.
Gulaab gang received a good publicity due to the court case. Even because of bigg boss many people knew about this gang. Still no one went to see it. Had it been a top actress of today then people would have given it a chance.
Do you think Chakde would have worked if SRK wasn't there? Because of SRK people went to see the movie. No matter how boring it sounds that movie revolve around hockey, people still gave it a chance.
Industry is big, a lot of movies are produced but most end up being disaster. Only few production houses and directors are worth to watch. Boman irani became popular only because of munna bhai. He did few movies before that and no one even knew him. I personally don't think he would have become popular had he not done that movie but nobody knows.
