What does it mean when they say salman has taken them under his wing?

@gameon infact its an interesting topic u raised. Bollywood employee such PR, marketing , they sell us actors as some kind of product that at least these star kids or having connection able to at least float around . We viewer just play along with their strategy.

First couple of time I didn't care to ask but they said salman is now taking 3 new comers I was wondering if Salman has actually got so much time. Under the wing would mean like being with them most of the time, guiding them properly, helping them in each step. For.e.g if you see Wall Street, Douglas takes Sheen under his wing and get him inside the real game. Yes he was more using him but thats not what I am trying to say.

Just recommending a personal trainer, dietician, acting classes is not exactly taking under the wing. Anybody successful could do it. When I finished my 12th, I met successful people from several different professions that I was interested in. Obviously my dad got me in touch with them and all gave their recommendations. The person's advice who I followed, I wouldnt say that he took me under his wing. He just pointed me towards the right direction, took my calls whenever I was stuck somewhere and helped me.
