What does it mean when they say salman has taken them under his wing?

First and foremost, let me clarify one thing. This is not Salman's hate thread. I am not critiquing him but asking a simple question.

He gives them chances to act in the films..Salman has taken many actors under his wings in the past and still does so..

Salman like to call his "wings" 😉

He makes them drink Redbull.

It means that Salman's managers lobby for work opportunities for the newcomer and get him/her the best of deals. They get a chance in Salman's films, to perform in the same award functions as he does, and press coverage. Here is Masand's piece about Pulkit Samrat:

On topic, I think Salman maybe encouraging these whoever newcomers to stay fit and join Bollywood etc etc and in return they could be using his name for attention. Just a thought

@gameon: True. Pulkit apparently turned down some good roles by asking for a price of Rs. 3 crore. That, when he hasn't got a single solo hit to his credit, nor the popularity. Then he goes on to do stuff like Jai Ho and O Teri. O Teri wasn't even promoted well. It is easy to understand that makers don't have confidence in the film when the first promos are of Salman's item song rather than promos trying to give an idea of what the film is about.

But one thing out of this is that he is getting more media mileage cos of the Salman associatio. Salman's managers have also got him quite a few ads. He comes in Sprite as well as the Airtel ads. He needs to choose films carefully. Not just backing but good choices are important to make it big.
