Katrina can give other actors a run for their money 😊 She's got star power like no other female. 👏

Not since Sridevi. She was able to make even a horrible movie like Nagina a hit. It starred Rishi Kapoor, people did not certainly go for him. Plus look at English Vinglish.

I think the only actresses who gave superhits and blockbusters on their own were Madhuri and Hema Malini.

No one apart from them, seem to have much star power. There were other superstar actresses too but their films were just hits not superhits or blockbusters.

In the end it has too do with the screenplays available to them...there are very few really good female-centric scripts out there...or even scripts where the heroine gets to prove her mettle.

Yes, the actors seem to have more star power at the box office, but Sridevi, Madhuri, Aishwarya, Kajol are just as popular, but they don't have the support or the same opportunities as the actors. You wont see audiences whistling at their signature dance moves or clapping at a dialogue they might say.

For female oriented films to work, there needs to be a strong script that really forces people to go watch the movie. Like EV, Queen, Kahaani etc. But even in these movies - is it the actresses that people are going for? Or is it the story?. This is a very complex topic, more than meets the eye.

On another note, I know a lot of people say Katrina has star-power, but most of her big films were opposite big stars. New York and MBKD were hits without big heroes, but somehow I feel it was more luck than Katrina herself. I think her real test will be with Phantom, alongside Saif Ali Khan (he's been giving flops for a while now) if that movie becomes a hit then I will blindly believe in her stardom. Even Fitoor will be a good test too. I think the next few years will really give us a good idea of what kind of power she has (or doesn't have).

Deepika, in my opinion has very little power. Race-2, YJHD, and CE would've been hits even if they casted a shoe in her place. Ram Leela could've been just luck, who knows - I would also need to monitor her for a few more years before making a judgement. Its too soon to say.

Katrina definitely has star power... Yes not that much compared to her costars but She definitely has star power!
