Q. How much difference does hit music make to an opening of an film?

Ans. It depends on the film. It makes a huge difference to small films but as the films get bigger the effect of hit music is also less. Basically for a small film like Yaariyan it can add 30-40% on an opening but for a film like Dhoom 3 or Chennai Express it makes little difference as films are driven by the stars and here music may make a difference of 5 or 10% to opening.

Q. In which circuits are Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan most popular?

Ans. They are popular all over but the best circuit for Shahrukh Khan is West Bengal where he is like no 1-10 and for Salman Khan it is Rajasthan and CI.

A. Hameed

Q. Which film is a bigger grosser worldwide Queen or English Vinglish?

Ans. Queen is bigger due to more business in India but overseas English Vinglish was much bigger with twice the business of Queen.

M. Irani

Q. Is is possible DDLJ has beaten the business of HAHK now as it is still running?

Ans. No. A 20 crore plus shortfall can't be made up. HAHK is ahead in all the circuits even Mumbai where DDLJ has had longer run.

Personally for me, DDLJ was far better than HAHK. That movie is nostalgic for me. I was a teenager, saw it with my friends and dreamed of meeting my own Raj Malhotra on a European vacation. It evoked all the emotions of being a silly, giddy, teenager. HAHK is great in its own right and has its own nostalgia. But it will never have the sweetness and magic that DDLJ did.

I love both the movies.
HAHK has some sad parts. Even though I love everything about it. The music, the family fun, everything.
But DDLJ doesn't make me cry. Its fun through and through.
Whereas in HAHK I always skip the part where renuka sahane's character dies and after that all the fun magic in the movie dies out. 😆

Pretty sure everyone likes DDLJ more, its always referred to as "the classic" movie, and then I hear Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.

From my experience at least. These two films are the most watched/loved. They are literally shown every other week on TV.

DDLJ will always be remembered as a classic. It's been regarded as sort of a milestone in Bollywood. Mostly compared to the cult of Sholay.

Even today, you have so many Bollywood movies that make references to that movie. And it's probably the one movie I have heard so many actors stating as one of their favorites. In that sense, I think it's way ahead of HAHK.

DDLJ has this young and quirky vibe to it. If you realize, half of the movie just revolves around two characters. Two strangers traveling and falling in love. The ultimate formula. Even the second half with the whole family and traditional occasions focuses more on this boy trying to maintain his identity while revealing snippets of his 'Indianness'. This movie is just more easy to get attached to it. All the fun, charm and romance just sucks you in.

Although I'm a huge sucker for Soorah Barjatya movies. But more than HAHK, I absolutely love HSSH.
