hindi cinemas havent reached the gutter level..it always have but not one noticed now...
have u ever seen all those so called old movies..even if they were no skin showing.it was vulgar..i remember seeing a song of jeetendra and hema malini...where they were inside a car nd it was choreographed in such a way as if they were dry humping🤢..i can never watch that...
and all those raj kapoor films...like ram teri ganga maili...dhak dhak song...and even that song roop tera mastana and its hyperventilating of sharmila tagore..how can someone watch that with ur family...
lyrics can still be ignored if u r watching with ur family..but not visuals

Very well said Tanya.

I knew people would come up with old songs like choli ke peeche, but be honest.. were those songs really as vulgar as Tooh? There is a big difference, the lyrics of Tooh are like in your face and way too direct. With most of our old songs you could interpret it the way you wanted to.

I still believe its just general nostalgia which is doing the talking here

had amitab's "jis ki biwi lambi etc etc" track released today- feminists would have made sure its banned considering it reduces the role of a wife only to please her husband and nothing else as the lyrics suggest!

there are still so many tracks I enjoy and I find harmless

SOTY , YJHD had great music and decent lyrics!

Choli ke peeche was even more vulgar IMO. How are those lyrics not "in your face"? 😲

I have less of a problem with p*rn as they are honest about their intentions. I have lots of problems with so called family film makers who throw in kisses and ridiculous lyrics just for hits when the films are bad.
Shame on Karan. Good for Kajol for calling him out.

How is Fevicol Se a "fun" song but Tooh is vulgar?

Bollywood has ALWAYS had its set of vulgar/raunchy/double meanings songs and movies, which was pretty visible too. Yes, all of that exists in BW today as well but I just think that some people talk about it more and more these days due to the whole nostalgia factor of the 70s/80s/90s/early 2000s movies.

bcoz the next line says "choli may dil hai mera chunri may dil hai mera"
that says it all...and as K.sean and others too already mentioned more then once they were DOUBLE MEANING and all those songs used to cover up the duble meaning too in the next set of lyrics of those songs like choli... while tonh and other songs of today dont hesitate to throw the filth directly in your face without any iota of shame or hesitation. and no there is no nostalgia shostalgia attached...I ampurely talking on merits (read demerits) of today;s filth that has been injected more and more and str8 away directly now in today;s films...
hope its not at all hard to understand... coz its not...simple.

Lyrics these days are meaningless. My dad always says to me that 'old is gold'. I guess I'm starting to understand that he is indeed right when he says that. What nonsense lyrics we have these days. Seriously the beauty of soulful music is lost.
