box office india isn't the only trade website out there, and different quotes come from different sites. BBB was quoted mostly as a hit. The same for rockstar that was also quoted mainly as a hit

Lol.. I saw these 100 cr statements from his fans even before big first day collection, i can show their posts too right now if you want to 😛. and then two prediction threads predicted +100 cr and BB status because of those hypes during promotion.

So we can safely say that Ranveer is not YET a superstar & Biru may be on the top but neither can he make a crappy movie work! Why are we not talking abt rest of the competition-SSR, ARK, Sid?! If all these are just favors of the season, then Biru is the only one left!

Also Alia is only 20, she has so many years ahead of her & she is already getting critical appreciation!

Too early to predict the future of SSR, ARK etc. Ranveer has got the hype going and some big projects as well like Zoya's. Expectations will be there due to ZNDB. But fans needs to be bit more grounded imo, Imran was also on a high after Delhi Belly and MBKD.. but look at him now. Rockstar, Barfi and YJHD being blockbuster consolidated Ranbir's position. But as any star, he also needs to deliver hits in coming years. BV, Jagga Jassos, Window Seat and Karan Johar movie sounds like good line up.

@scorpio_bins I agree that fans need to be grounded when it comes to their stars and not expect too much when it comes to their movies, even sometimes a great movie from promos and trailers and with huge hype can turn out wrong, like JTHJ.So lets support our faves without comparing and bashing other actors to try and make our faves look good, because it does the opposite effect.For me I want both ranbir and ranveer to have their places in the industry and both to produce good movies, and want both of them to be the future superstars of the industry, but for that they need our love, support and patience, even when their movies don't end up working

I honestly feel that most people on this forum have lost their mind. Why are we calling newbies like Ranbir and Alia superstars of the generation? That is a huge exaggeration and Its obviously not true.

They are more like the flavours of the seasons...sometimes Ranbir is up there, Sometimes Ranveer...sometimes people talk about about Parineeti sometimes Alia. Its really up and down.

A real superstar SUSTAINS. Its very easy to call someone a superstar when they are doing well and up and about. The real test of stardom is when you go through a bad phase. Ranbir's one flop- Besharam...completely made him lose his number-1 spot. JUST ONE FLOP did that.

Same thing with Vidya, she was on top of the game for 2-3 years, and JUST one Ghanchakkar wiped her out of the Top 3 completely. I personally don't consider her a superstar, because no one is realy that interested in her, and I doubt her sustainability. She's already lost a considerable amount of star power

Tomorrow once Deepika gets a few flops, everyone will be over here too. People like that are not "super stars". From the males, only Hrithik is the last REAL superstar, everyone after him is perhaps getting there or on their way there. Ranbir doesn't have that kind of starpower, he may have had better performances or better movies...but is he is not AS big of a star as Hrithik or the Khans.

IMO the only superstars we have from the current generation are Kareena and Priyanka, they have been consistently popular for at least 10+ years . They are HUGE stars. These women were consistently in The Top 3, and heavily talked about, despite their up and downs. If Kareena bounces back then that will be an even bigger testament to her stardom.



Anyone who thinks Ranbir, Ranveer, Alia or Parineeti are "superstars of this generation" needs a huge reality check. I have doubts on more senior actors like Deepika, Vidya and even Katrina. So they all have a long way to go. Lets not get ahead of ourselves. Its also very easy for stars associated when nepotism to get hyped up so much, its rather convenient I find 👏
